For a long time I thought my stomach was upset by coffee, but then I stopped drinking the shitty, acidic stuff and miraculously my stomach doesn't mind as long as there's no sugar

Unfortunately, with me it's an issue of GERD - I get ridiculously bad heartburn if I drink coffee or eat certain types of food. I've got medication that mitigates it to a degree, and I can have it occasionally if I chew an antacid afterward, but I'm trying to (at least temporarily) keep from eating or drinking anything even remotely 'dangerous'. Which, sadly, cuts out coffee for the time being. It's unfortunate because I have a lot of fancy coffee beans at home that are currently going to waste.

Oh yeah, I have crazy GERD too (ripe bananas kill me)
So either I've become less sensitive to coffee in particular, or I was having a problem with the stuff I put into the coffee rather than the beverage itself - who knows

I'm thinking of 팔도식품, just north of Canyon Road across the street from Freddies/Panda Express. You can't get onto that street from the eastbound lanes, though. Gotta go westbound or come in around from the north. But it's a Korean grocer with a little restaurant up some stairs. Very authentic food, but very out-of-the-way.
There are a lot of other good Korean and Japanese restaurants in that area as well. There's another Korean place in Beaverton Town Square that has good samgyetang, I think it was called Hae Rim or something like that.
thankfully I work at a restaurant there that's right outside of the main complex, so I am able to make decent money and not have to deal with some of the types that dwell within Lloyd Center
You guys, Portland has a doner kebab restaurant. I think it's on washington and 4th? But yeah, apparently no one knows about it. My friends and I went there when we last visited portland and oh my goodness.
To be fair, the doners themselves are pretty average, and they're $7 too which is sort of silly, but if anyone in portland is ever like "holy crap I need a doner right now to remind me of bein in Germany" or something, there's a place for you. Also I think they're open till 4 AM on weekends or something so that is also cool
Portland, how I hate you.
I hate your rain. I hate your refusal to provide adequate freeways. I hate your bicyclists who give me the finger because I couldn't see their tiny little recumbent. I hate your nearby coast that is always freezing, even if I go there in August, and which never has girls in bikinis. I hate your fat chicks. I hate your rain. I hate that when it's not raining, you still can't do anything because it will probably rain soon. I hate your summers that are beautiful just long enough to get Californians to think this would be a great place to live but will still rain on the weekends. I hate that you have all this water, but it only turns into snow every other year, and usually only for a day or two. I hate that your trees are green all the time, and so autumn to spring is one long dreary gray sludge. I hate your meth epidemic. I hate that after two weeks of straight rain I can understand the need to shoot up with poison. I hate your 19 hour drive to see the sun.

coffee is pretty cool
what kind of coffee
Probably not a bad thing, though. Instead, I drink ridiculous quantities of water.

Unfortunately, diabetes makes liquid sugar kind of difficult to handle.

What's up, Swill?
My dad bought a car.
Ate at this Cuban place called Pambiche.
So good.
I prefer Beaverton restaurants.

meeting some nice people, new job that owns, cats purring like mad
any particular ones you'd recommend?

And Yuki on 14th and Broadway is good too. And Sushiland is in between the two.

TL;DR: Hate
God dang Californians. Don't understand that moving to the Rocky mountains means dealing with feet of snow from October to March (give or take)
