God damn this PAGE! It's magnificent! I love every single thing on this page, no joke. Now I feel like a doofus cross-posting Homestuck stuff.
Commissioned for the massive 71 track Vol 5 album! I made a PDF album insert with all the song titles and credits inside. Top one is the full cover front/back, bottom is a modified background I faded to put behind the track list (also included without the color fade in the back of the PDF). Really proud of this, since I never do backgrounds or big compositions. Lots I would like to fix or change about it, but time was an issue and I had to call it done at some point! Whew~
I'll probably make wallpapers out of that bottom one, but I'm withholding putting any big versions of the top one anywhere as (minor) incentive to buy the album and support the musicians 8-)
I'm trying to plan out a painting for my portfolio. This is not reading very well, any ideas?
Man, I haven't had any free time to do my own stuff and my process for work is completely different from how I like to paint. I feel rusty, but I've been drawing and inking constantly lately.
Very cool. The statue makes me think of Chozo statues from metroid (edit: what scos said.) Next to the little three eyed jelly fish you've got some brinstar action going on there.
I'm sure you get asked this allll of the time, but I'm gonna ask once more. Next time you draw one of your pretty ladies, could you record it? I'm sure myself among others would learn a lot from just watching your process.
That's pretty sweet when it comes together Gibs. Have you ever played or seen much of a PS2 game called Odin Sphere? It has really fantastic sprite work and animation done with a similar technique, might give you some ideas.
There are quite a few people here who work professionally, Shane.
And post more stuff please. Because damn.
Yeah as I started actually not being lazy/retarded and looking through the posts, I saw that. My question now seems like I walked into a biker bar to see if there were any beerguts inside.
I am glad you dig that one, I thought it came out pretty good. Here is another one I did for TOR books, that one is coming out soon I believe, initially it was July 3rd, but who knows.
Shane_Tyree: Cool drawing. Oddly though, that demon dude looks like he's having fun down there. He's got like a grin on his face with his leg up like it's the first day of summer and he's in a small plastic pool. the chains say heavily otherwise though
McGibs: That is awesome. Whenevver that game comes out I'm buying me a copy. Is it XBLA?
worked on a sculpt of my friend. He's a Navy seal, so I'll probably be making this some kind of Navy seal model at the end. Textures are about 80% done. It's a mix of photo source and a lot of hand painting and photoshop voodoo
@Scos: Ive seen a little bit of Odin Sphere and played a little bit of Muramasa Blade, it's spiritual successor. I totally dig the animation style in those. I think it's basically the same 'puppet' method I'm using (albeit, done by people who actually know how to animate)
Looks pretty well animated to me, I've seen some really clunky looking shit come out of aftereffects. I thought for a minute you may be using CS4 and the new bones.
Gibs: The only thing that bothers me about the brain guy is the animation of the brain throb looks more like you are looking at through water, than it throbbing. Other than that, its pretty much congealed awesome.
Shane: Nice stuff! I think using sharper, more textural brushes would help. I'm not a big fan of the airbrush-ness of the second piece. And yeah, there are a bunch of professionals here. I work at a game studio as a concept artist, and do some freelance rpg/card stuff on the side. I'd love to show some recent stuff, but I havn't had much time for personal stuff and the rest is NDAed up the hoohoo. Beavotron does a bunch ridiculously cool stuff with Valve and does indie iphone games too. I wouldn't be surprised if their were some kids book stuff soon for her. McGibs there works for a pretty awesome facebook game developer, and is also doing his own game for xbox live I think. I think I'm forgetting people?

Are you using your own photography for these or using others as references? I'm assuming that's a real girl.
