Wapsi Square is one of those ones I kinda-sorta read back when I was really flipping through archives, but I think I basically only payed attention because I was 14 and the main lady had really big cartoon tits.

You know what's surprisingly fun, assuming you're the right dork combination? "Darths and Droids." It's the story of the shitty Star Wars prequels, presented as the actions of an pen-and-paper RPG group. It works surprisingly well in terms of papering over glaring stupidity in the plot, is usually moderately funny, and has a little "how to effectively run a game" thing in each post.

I just recently found out that the print comic Love and Capes is partially available online. I have a weakness for cutesy romantic shit and terrible puns, so I may be biased in saying that it's really damn good. But it's really damn good. At times it's a little too sitcom-y, but I also kind of like that aspect.

And just today I was pointed towards Lucy Knisley's Art Journal. It's just a bunch of comics on her blog, but I like 'em. Again though, I might be the target audience, being a wannabe artist that suffers from frequent existential crises.

I feel it's lost a step with the transition to Episode 2.

I'm pretty sure all the blame lies squarely with how terrible Episode 2 is though.

If you are not reading MS Paint Adventures it bears repeating that you are kicking yourself in the nuts. It is only getting better and better and better. Easily a more enjoyable (and humorous) story than most comics that you pay for.

Also awesome music reminiscent of the 16-bit SNES era. So good. Soooo good.

    Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ, the most recent arc of Achewood. I know a lot of people just don't really get the humor of the strip, but this story's been killing me. It chronicles Nice Pete's attempt to recreate the high school experience he never had, by essentially kidnapping Teodor, and asking him to participate in increasingly bizarre activities. The problem of course, is that Nice Pete's a creepy sociopath.

    Nope, don't see the funny.
Keep that up and the only thing you'll see is the inside of Nice Pete's van.

For reals though, for a long time I thought Achewood was overrated shit, but one day it just sort of clicked for me, and I've enjoyed it ever since.

I still enjoy it, to be honest. I don't necessarily need to have an overarching plotline and there's enough character development to keep me interested. It may help though that I came into it later on and so the whole experience has been compressed somewhat for me.

I read the entire thing from 1-current in a week. It was kinda cool watching the artwork progress like I did with Penny Arcade, but I feel like the story does drag a little with a lot of delivery on the same type of jokes.

I really love the Achewood dialogue. There's so many gems in it.

"[...] but you folded with a focus and intensity normally seen only in successes."

"DRACULA DON'T GOT MUCH MONEY THIS WEEK MWWWAH-HA-HA"

"Oh my god that is the worst possible answer in the universe"

I've been catching up with the FreakAngels. It is really good, and explores some interesting ideas. It is an oddly human post-humans thing. The latest revelation about their powers si really intriguing.
They are theorizing that they can't die. Luke was shot in the head and his brains were leaking out, and he's fully conscious, walking around and talking and everything.

Which means, as Kait says to Jack-- they are stuck with each other. They are going to have grow up and try to get along.

Maybe something similar has been done before in literature somewhere, I have no idea. This is a fascinating idea.

Questionable Content is good but it just has too many characters which leaves little character development. I miss Raven.

    And Elf Only Inn.

A little gem on the 'net: Starcrossed , a webcomic set in Ravenloft (the D&D setting).

Good story but the author has not updated in a while (posts sometimes in the Fraternity of Shadows forums). Worth a read.
