I encourage you to use something like Magnatune rather than torrenting. That way you get clean DRM-free files, the artists get $$, and the RIAA gets the finger.

There are other services that offer RIAA-free music, such as Jamendo, which has over 2000 albums available. There are other clean sites with similar ranges of available music. Anybody interested in listening to new music should at least give these a sampling.
