If you exported it in high quality and upload it to Youtube, it should do it automatically. The upload will look like shit for a couple of hours, but you eventually get the HD toggler
iMovie 08 only has the option "Export Movie" which gets me pretty good qual, seems 720p anyway, but when I upload it's just 480.
Maybe I need iMovie 09?

sam, this is turning out exactly how i want it. im so glad the thing worked.
Epic quarterfinals so far. I missed the votes for the Ten/GSM and Marcus/bsjezz matchups because I was tromping around Boston looking for an apartment, which is a fucking nightmare. Just watched/read the entries now, though, and they are so good.
Also, bsjezz, I would absolutely read a weekly serial you wrote. Your entries have been getting better and better throughout the competition, and I thought this last one was brilliant.
given the same amount of time, I think the animator will get more quality work done than the film guy
I was wondering what is the time/effort for you animators? I only know film & video.
This was from the last thread since I just caught up, but like Campion and natek said it was a tremendous amount of time drawing all the individual frames and then editing afterwards.
I spent probably around twenty hours drawing all the frames in our seven minute animation, then another five to ten hours learning how to use premiere pro and editing it all together
I really need to learn a better way to animate, for that I basically made 100 or so gifs with multiple frames, then imported them into premiere pro and got the timing down. The trouble was if I didn't get the timing down right, I have to open it back up in photoshop and change the timing on the individual frames, then import it again in premiere.
The worst was when dubh figured out why the timing on some of the frames was so off: instead of importing the gifs with their individual frame timers, premiere pro simply took the total time alotted for the gif and divided by the number of frames, so each frame in the gif was the same length.
Tremendous pain in the ass.
edit: this isn't taking into account the time dubh spent writing and the two of us edited

Oh well. 480p will have to do.
