The fact this game shipped without dedicated servers is ridiculous, I finally got servers to appear in the list(it didn't upgrade properly from beta to retail), I get one round in then the server goes down.
And it patched in dedicated server support this Monday
New dedicated servers support added. They contain many new features, including:
* Map-cycles can now be defined
* Games can be password protected
* Specify max ping allowed for entering a server
* Auto kick idle players added
* Friendly fire can be turned on/off
* Administrators specified with password or steam-id
* In-game console available for administrators. (kick/ban/change map cycle/list users)
* Players can be banned or kicked from server using steam-id
* Server stores log of actions happening in game, including chat messages
* New leader-boards have been added. (kill streak, most exp per match, matches won, matches lost)
* Message of the day shown when entering server
* Ping can now be seen in score-board
* Server name can now be seen in score board
* Server version can be seen in main menu
* Server browser shows some extra info on dedicated servers
* All servers are displayed in the server browser (full and empty)
* The dedicated exe runs without Lead and Gold client installed. No steam account needed to run
* The dedicated exe runs on machines without sound card or advanced graphics card
And as it turns out, this game is pretty fun
So buy it ya varmints, and let's all shoot some cowpokes
Once i figured out that alt-fire for zooming and the alt-fire for secondary powers are different things, and how the whole gold nabbing thing worked this game begs for some in-house fun
Is there any way to switch teams though, or make a passworded server, or any of that jazz?
Great games Fleck and Carbonfire.
Switch teams or switch classes is one of the Function keys (Default is like F6 I think?). It's listed in the controls.
Some pretty good games, but for some reason my ping was getting horribad. Not even sure what was causing it, because I have an extremely low latency, high speed connection to the nearest connection speed test location. Maybe part of the internets is broken
: A man of justice and bowler hats, using his lever action carbine to mow bitches down. [Special Ability] Tagging:This sumbitch can "Tag" an opponent, giving them a little Skull mark that shows up on all allies screens, through walls. [Synergy Effect] Damage:Hit harder
: This little lady may not take the best punch, but she sure is hell can put you 6 under iffin' ya blink. [Special Ability] Set Trap:Lay down a bear trap that'll clamp down on the next sucker to step over it, while they struggle to escape take your time in making their attempts futile. [Synergy Effect] Criticals:Get Lucky & Save Bullets
These two special abilities are outstanding. The trapper defending a chokepoint is really hard to get past, especially when aided by a deptuy tagging people. Alt + LMB to tag people. Didn't see anyone but myself doing this tonight.

So far, I've only tried the Deputy and the Gunslinger. Coming straight from BC2, so the tagging ability came naturally.
I will be all over this with you guys tomorrow; only seems fair after conning Carbon out of his precious $5. And yes, this seems to be a law of gaming or something. If:
a) there are objective-based maps and
b) there is a gun with a scope
you will lose games due to people sniping.

I haven't even touched the Trapper, personally
I love that Gunslinger, though. My favorite class by far
Also I remapped special trait button to F because seriously, alt? Fuck that nonsense

Since Alt is my default spotting button in BF2/2142/BC2, it seems to work for me.
Gunslinger is a lot of fun, though I think I like Blaster the most. I prefer my killin' all up close an personal-like. Deputy is fun too, but I need to get used to hitting two buttons to spot :rotate:

I love Trappers personally, because they're too busy looking through their scope to notice me either shoot them in the head as the deputy or mark them so my Gunslinger minions can go forth and take them apart.
For 5 dollars you bet your ass some people should be playing this game, I'll admit it had some drawbacks and being in the 15 dollar area was kinda ass for some people.
Really enjoying Lead and Gold. It's the Killing Floor of 2010. It's like Shattered Horizon in that it has few people playing it, but is actually fun and engaging instead of frustrating eyecandy: I don't feel like I bought a demo.
Bought this game during the sale, tons of fun. How on earth do you melee in this game? I can't find any mention of it in setting, their forums, and can't figure it out myself for the life of me.

I say what the hell are you talking about.
Unfortunately I can't get a connection to any L&G servers (and apparently neither can anyone else) tonight.
edit: Able to join servers again
But I refuse to get on vent
My wi-fi dongle is crapping out enough as it is without straining it too hard

Thanks for the good games Ash and Kimchi!
That Starcraft Player was a prick though...I enjoyed buckshotting his face
i'm gonna get in the L&G steamgroup chat room as well as vent, cause vent is kinda buggin out a teency bit
Also I like how even in this game, teams are ruined by too many people wanting to be the closest thing to a sniper there is.

Also being new in this game is extremely hard, since everyone else seems to already be at quite an experienced level of play.
You and me, we're like this.
Except I'm thinking of using AutoHotKey to make it so F activates the special ability on its lonesome as opposed to F+M1.
No excuse this time round.
will play later
