I enjoy the classes in this game. It's been a while since I've played a WW2-shooter, and this one fills that spot nicely. It's a refreshing change for me that not everyone can be every class at the same time; and it's always a challenge to adapt to the class you have to play if you are not used to it. Playing an Assualt Troop is very different from, say, a Machine Gunner or a Rifleman. I played all three today and tried the Assault Troop-method of playing with each one (just run at them, get close and shoot them without iron sights) but with the Rifleman for instance I found a spot where I could see all over a town square, and just picked the enemy off one by one. It was really fun.
How does this game compare to something like Battlefield 2? I noticed that you can get orders from a commander in one of the tutorial videos, but how deep does it go in terms of squads and kits?

When I last played, which wasn't too long ago, there were still people playing but not a lot. It wasn't a big bustling community. I believe I could count how many populated servers there were on one hand. That might change with this five dollar weekend, plus it wouldn't matter too much if we have enough just to get some PA'ers together in a server. Do we have a Steam PA RO community by chance?

Ack! How do I play online? Also, how the hell do I actually deploy weapons? I can't find it in the controls but I can't use my anti-tank gun until I deploy!
Oh! Figured both out! Need sandbags or something to deploy the antitank gun, an icon shows up bottom left and then you middle mouse click (iron sights)
Oh yeah, I got this game a while ago. Bayonets are great fun. So's the PPSH.
I love bayonets. I will bayonet charge at the slightest provocation. And sometimes it works. I'll always remember this one time I charged into a factory and killed like fifteen guys with just my bayonet. That was my brightest moment.

The two Commanders can call down artillery and have smoke grenades. Everyone else has their regular gun, maybe a pistol, and grenades.
Its much more realistic than BF2. No crosshairs, you have to aim down the sights, and a good hit kills you outright.
The community is decent sized but not huge; I had a page full of servers to join the other night.
Definitely worth the $5.
