okay, so as my Orioles are languishing in a season that will rank as one of mankind's greatest hate-crimes: We are looking for a new manager.
Top candidates: Buck Showalter and Eric Wedge.
What are the pros and cons of Wedge? I have a good handle on Showalter, but Wedge is largely an unknown. I know he had a couple very good years in Cleveland and won manager of the year - but how does he manage? What type of manager is he? What are his failings?
when the red sox are basically playing as the pawtucket red sox then i shouldn't have to pay so much money to go see them
especially when they are playing the worst team
cuz i want to see them
I was on break during this
I saw the walk, thought to myself "well, maybe we could get a double play at least"
then I see span slowly retreating towards the wall thinking that it would never go out. that would be silly
NEW YORK (AP)—David Wright has overtaken Placido Polanco in the final week of voting to be the National League’s starting third baseman in the All-Star game.
Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols was again the leading National League All-Star vote-getter. AL MVP catcher Joe Mauer is top vote-getter overall for the July 13th game.
The other NL starters are: Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina; Phillies second baseman Chase Utley; Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez; and Millwaukee’s Ryan Braun, Los Angeles’ Andre Ethier and Atlanta’s Jayson Heyward in the outfield.
Other AL starters: Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter, Justin Morneau, Evan Longoria Vladimir Guerrero, Josh Hamilton, Ichiro Suzuki and Carl Crawford.

Nick Markakis.
Leads the AL in doubles
Has an OBP in the low .400s
Has the highest average on the Orioles (.305)
Plays an amazing RF (led the league in assists last year, thus no one is running on him now)
Is the most recognizable Oriole in baseball
Longterm contract and arguably Baltimore's favorite and most valuable Oriole
Girardi picks Wigginton, why 14 homers.
Wigginton will most likely not be on the team at the end of July.
The Twins are going into the All-Star break with a whimper
Cliff Lee might fix them!

Bad news, Hjor. According to the NY Post the Yanks and Mariners are close to a deal that would send Jesus Montero, one of the top catching prospects in the league, and perhaps as many as 2 other prospects in exchange for Cliff Lee.
Is it bad that I hope one of the prospects is replaced by AJ Burnett, even with his recent 2 good starts?
Posts
shut out five times in the past twelve games
So last night they ditched him and went to Waffle House.
I've been laughing about this for a good 2 hours now.

especially when they are playing the worst team

OOTP is the best fucking thing since APBA
Omar Infante? What the hell?

This ASG is completely stupid.

Indeed, but the point remains. Nick Markakis is the best on the team and therefore should be the all star.
Fuck the Orioels really don't deserve an all star this year. But Markakis should be it.

Once again, my ticket price is covered entirely in pizza.

Wern't you doing an MLB 2k10 playthrough with Forumers on the Nationals? I forgot all about that. Still doing it, if so how's Skullie Fingers doing?
