is such a weird rush of emotions when your kid is born
you are pretty grossed out but its such a rush and a huge whirlwind of activity that you dont really notice
keep your head, be there for your lady and take plenty of pictures (not of the actual birth, but after)
also, i dont know how much family is there, but there will be a huge rush to get in and see the kid. keep them out for a bit. my best advice would be to take about 20 or so minutes where your lady can calm down and get herself together a bit (the shaking is natural for her) and you just share a few moments together as a new family
30+ers are usually more responsible, less prone to beating, ignoring, spoiling, or otherwise fucking up their kid, more financially stable, more able to devote time to the kid, more likely to stay together in their relationship
plus waiting to have a kid ratehr than having one early can help you to live something like 5-10 years longer from stress-related reasons!
people having kids and not being good to them and it fucking up the kids is a pet peeve of mine
like how being punched in the face is a pet peeve of most people?
Man i agree with all your points but the age thing is pretty arbitrary. I mean i'm glad we waited but i wouldn't have minded having it a few years earlier ( all other conditions being met).
I just wanted to enjoy my freedom a bit more ( and my wife hers) so we chose to wait.

Fry it up with some garlic, onion, and bacon and it's a good meal.
Also to the man with the baby on the way...congrats and say goodbye to sleep for a while. Babies are allergic to you sleeping. Also the smell of a clean shirt makes them puke. All over you. True story.

just a number for when people are more likely to treat their kid better and yet still be able to be around and keep up with them through their formative years

There is a notion going around that the process of childbirth is beautiful and the miracle of life.
Really though, you'll be watching a gunk-covered baby squeezing through your wife's vagina.

and are a decent person
and in a good relationship
and don't have crippling vices or depression
and are over like 30
and don't hope this baby will fix anything wrong with your life
etc
otherwise
but if so: hooray!
