I loves me some Kasumi, but from a story standpoint does she really have that much of a reason to stick around? She was paid to help you complete a mission, and that mission has been completed. Same for Zaeed really, and to a lesser extent Samara.
Going to be interesting to see who (if anyone) gets the boot for ME3.

i don't understand why people would stay loyal to ashley or liara
kaidan, i can kind of understand because jacob is pretty boring, garrus's romance is basically akin to shepard raping him, and thane is a giant lizard fish man who cries a lot.
but ashley and liara were pretty much designed to be totally unlikeable in this new game

Ashley felt like a person all right. A total douche of a person. Kaidan is just a guy but he's a cool guy, definitely more interesting then the ME2 guys.
Tali's my favorite because she carried over from ME1 so we, as the player, know more about her and know her better. The characters who were new to ME2 didn't have as much time to grow.
