It suffers because of a weak antagonist, even if Jeff Bridges was good in the role.
Also, I hate how both 1 and 2's fights were resolved by some technological quirk that was introduced earlier in the film, namely
how the armor freezes up at high altitudes and how combining a repulsor beam creates a big explosion.
Compounding the stupidity of the latter is the fact that it wouldn't have worked if Rourke had had the sense to keep his helmet on.
I recently saw Spider-Man 1 & 2 again and they both feel very dated even for being released 8 years ago. Dafoe is a good Osborn but both the CGI and overall campiness just doesn't click with me.

I actually like it. Aside from the Miami setting I think it does a good job of portraying Punisher before he really goes off the deep end. Didn't care for War Zone but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
