The thing that makes this so great is that you know--you know--that it has started at least one fanboy fight over whether Wolverine could really beat Beast in a fight.
That's one of my favorites too. Even though it's a simple joke, it's one of the few that doesn't make me go "Hahahah... oh... "
I always feel like I'm missing something on this one. What's the depressing part?
There isn't a depressing part. At least not that I've been able to pick out.
Maybe in the undrawn fourth panel the interviewer stumbles out the window and falls to a grisly demise squirming in agony on the wrought iron gates below because hat-guy doesn't give back his glasses quick enough. Of course, now hat-guy doesn't get the job (because while he's clearly quick, he's just as clearly not quick enough for Quick People Inc.), and has to watch his wife and children slowly starve to death, or maybe they turn to prostitution in order to eat.
Month's later, yellow hat guy decides to off his wife and child rather then watch them continue to suffer in the quagmire he's created. Decision made, he walks into their room. With startling swiftness he pulls his pistol, an old revolver passed down from his father and aims. Quick squeezes of the trigger of the trigger *BAM*BAM*BAM* and his son sleeps peacefully forever. *BAM*BAM*BAM* his wife no longer sucks dick to pay the rent on their crappy 1 bedroom flat.
He puts the barrel in his mouth and closes his eyes. His finger tightens on the trigger.

And again...

Quick guy should have slowed down a bit on that trigger.
Why was it removed anyway? That isn't nearly as graphic or macabre or even unfunny as a lot of the other comics.
Probably because it was supposed to be the last one in the series after the artist burnt himself out on it.
It loses it's impact a bit when the artist continues the comic.
I think it's awesome that there's the possibility of more PBF. On a related note, I was not aware of the term weeaboo and its use in regards to japanophiles before PBF. So now when someone says 'weeaboo', I think of this:

I..err.. might have to let you in on a little secret.
Also, I think Better Luck Next Time is my all-time favorite PBF.
The raised eyebrow + smirk at the end should be the new smug.gif
The mother's dialogue really makes this one.
This was the first PBF comic I ever saw after it was posted on...Maddox. I think. Let me clarify that I hated Maddox but it introduced me to PBF, so...

My personal favourite is this one:
It's just so clever.
I wish I could remember the joke behind this one
The rules card is Jesus.

'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
Then I don't understand. There is literally nothing else to get. That's the joke.

The cleverness is derived, somewhat, from its simplicity.

There's alot going on. First of all, they are Christmas cards. And Jesus rules, and there are the three kings, who are rich. And the other people, who are poor, are low numbered cards.

This comic is just brilliant.
It is all about the shapes of the letters. It is fantastic.
Probably my favorite simply because nothing ever references The Postman.

If it's the one I think it is, he didn't delete it. It's right here.

It'd be like the "I'd sell my soul for a puppy" one, but with Spider-Man.
Mary Jane actually
oh I have seen that one before. Yeah...grim.
Cracks me up every time. I think it is because you can totally imagine hearing the guy talking in the voice of Poseidon.
