Snipers don't even need anything. My most common domination in this game is spies while playing sniper. If I join a pub i'll have every enemy spy dominated within 5 minutes and I generally have a pretty good record on the PA servers as well.
It doesn't matter what class you play, spies are very rarely a threat unless you and the people around you are oblivious. Which, unfortunatly, most people are.

PS the correct way to deal with snipers as a spy is to decloak far off, headshot with the ambassador, and recloak before they can find your position. Then leave them alone to throw jarate in random places and get killed by a random rocket with the kukri out
The ambassador only exists to reduce the enemy's kill rate to 1 for the next several minutes

I definitely die more to just being shot with the revolver than backstabbed. I usually know the spy is there but the huntsman isn't the most reliable close-middle range weapon to aim, especially compared with hitscan pistol.

Here's the thing that gets me about complaints about spy-checking: unless you're willing to forfeit the match by shifting your entire team to Pyro to sweep every single inch of the map with flames, there is going to be a hole for the Spy to work with. Good Spies don't stalk the enemy when they're alone, they work the back lines of the hottest engagements, where all the various explosions and gunshots will paint over their decloaking sound and where enemies will spend the majority of their time facing forward, paying attention to the men who are actively shooting at them rather than flipping around to catch the Spy that may or may not be behind them. Getting backstabbed in combat is unfortunate (and admittedly still partially avoidable), but it doesn't mean that your team sucks at spy-checking.
If anyone, blame the Medic; he's the only person whose perceptions you can really spare.

I'm mostly concerned about the people who bump into me while i'm cloaked, are stuck against me for more than a second doing the "Move, asshole!" shuffle, and continue on without shooting me.
I just do not understand the thought process that goes through these people's heads.

That's kind of the point. On the list of things that medics hate with a passion, a dumb-ass soldier running around yelling for a medic with an equalizer out is pretty high up there. In this case, he was doing it on purpose to grief him for a bit.
Also on the list: Scouts that decide running frantically around the medic is better than standing still, people who adamantly refuse to believe that hurting yourself in spawn doesn't help with the uber, and when someone confuses a kritz for an uber and gets themselves immediately killed.
I love when scouts need healing, and you can really tell that the player controlling them is panicking because they're still jumping around and running in a circle like a freebasing weasel. There are no enemies around. You just know they haven't turned off their dodging reflex because they're at low health. I just want to whisper in their ear, "Calm down. You're safe now. Let the Doctor take a look."
Most of the time when I'm playing medic, people's stupidity just makes me laugh. Calling for a medic with the equalizer out, for instance, is mildly annoying, but they're the ones not getting healed. Joke's on them. What a silly bugger,I think to myself.

Oh, but there is at least one thing that bugs me: I was playing medic the other day and I kritzed a soldier, so that he could kill mans. It didn't go very well; there was a spy right next to him who survived until the very end. No biggie, though. Not like I'm only going to get one kritz. Then some jackass pipes into the voice channel, "I like how the kritzed soldier couldn't kill the spy," all superior and douchetastic. Thanks for that, asshole. Good to know the internet tradition of being a shithead to strangers for no reason is alive and well.
