if you're downloading the update patch and there's an option to disable P2P, you can cut your d/l time drastically
i'm impressed that they took the time to incorporate SC1 history lesson in the installer. most games just have some generic art or 'tips' while installing
Ugh. I was hoping to get out of work early enough to get this tonight. Got out at 12:05 and wouldn't make it gamestop to pick up my CE. 10am can't come soon enough.
CorriganX on
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

I actually didn't make it through all of the slides because the installation went so quickly. It's good to know that this silly computer I upgraded to was worth it.
I had an account with 2500 games. And a couple more with a couple hundred on them each.
And those were only recorded games, most of my games happened on UMS settings for that ghetto SC1 observer mode.
I'm not entirely convinced. I played about 6-8 hours a day 5+ days a week for four or five years. I dunno how many games that was. Most of them were UMS, so my melee skill was never that good, but I was in high school /jr high and I hated people, so I played a lot of BW.
Uh.
Fine you win.
How the hell can you play 40 hours a week of UMS, I don't know. And we're talking SC1
Dangerisk on
If what you say is true, the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang could be DANGERISK.
He used to compete with the top players in big Brood War tournaments, he's eased off the professional gaming since then though. He's still a very high skill level player.

He was just recently in a tournament. I imagine he'd still be playing professionally if he weren't making such fame off of just casting.
He was a legitimate player. Not an example of, "If you can't do, teach."
I've downloaded the digital version client and have finished installing the game into my PC's hard drive. However, the installer is in the process of downloading a patch, and nothing's happening .. I'm feeling very nervous at the moment.

i got my desktop for sc2 and it installed pretty fast as well. i actually Pressed Left to start reading from the beginning once i realized that it was displaying the story. by the time i got 1/2 way in, it already finished the install

the intro cinematic is GLORIOUS
The problem is that my mobo is like 8 years old. Other stuff isn't so terribly out of date but that just kills me every time.
49% hargle blargle maybe I should just go to bed and play when I wake up or something.

Just beat the first 2 missions. Need to go to bed now.
But so happy to have it within my grasp at last.
Also, the cutscene graphics are insanely good looking. There was a point in the cinematic after the first mission where it zoomed in on a fly, and the fly looked like...a real fly. So pretty.
Anyone from Australia, with OPTUS as their ISP tried to play on the SEA servers yet?
I am installing and have a bad feeling about it, I am hoping that magically all the traceroutes from my ISP meant dick all.
i'd imagine if you were in person at the event, you could at least eat, play some diff video games, and nerd out about SC all night long
but the stream is pretty boring with this France stuff, some good and some bad casters, and filler stuff. the marine/thor game engine GLHF.tv part was good though
time to sleep then, no point staying up till 3 am to start watching
I just got back from picking up a few groceries at Wal-mart after work, and I saw them take the shrink wrap of the Starcraft 2 display. I look behind me in line and there are twelve guys standing behind me, each with a copy in hand. Twelve. Thats crazy for the middle of nowhere Iowa. I'll be really curious to see the first week sales numbers. I expect the Blizzard parking lot to be paved in gold.
I really like the voice acting in the campaign. Blizzard has always been known for their great voice acting for games, but I think they outdid themselves with this. I especially like Tychus' actor.

I am so going all infantry upgrades. Gonna have Firebats shooting Marines that shoot bullets that are on fire.
collector's edition was worth it, I wasn't even sure what it came with but being able to listen to the soundtrack tomorrow to and from work = boss

on now
did they reset them when the open beta started, by any chance? I wanted to change mine.
Patches!
You can change your name. I kept mine, and it also gave me my old identifier number when I did that.

Did you load the digital version before the box came in? i.e., is your problem irrespective of downloading it a few days ago?
