Improve Hulu playback

I'm running Ubuntu 10, and I get pretty choppy play back in Hulu desktop.

My system is about 4 years old, and I'm wondering which component upgrade would give the best performance jump to Hulu. I'm hoping just a video card will do. I think I'm pretty much pushed what my mobo can handle cpu-wise, so if I need a better cpu, then I need a new mobo, and probably ram, but if that's what it takes, that's what it takes.

System:
AMD Sempron 2800+
2GB Ram
GeForce 6200

Ideally, I'd like to run hulu in high def on my TV via DVI.

Your video card is indeed terrible. Try something that has H.264 decoding.

Also going to need some better CPU power. Hulu is known to be CPU intensive.

It's not so bad if you have hardware H.264 decoding. Try that first, if you need to replace everything else at least you'll have the video card handled.

Cool thanks. From my searching, I think I'm gonna pick up an X1600
