Marvel Universe vs. The Punisher #1, pick this book up as penance for not buying Doomwar you savages, best characterization of Punisher since Ennis or Dixon:
Frank killed Deadpool 33 times but he kept coming back, and is the only one who talks still. The last time he killed him he chopped him up and buried him in different places.
It's like Marvel Zombies #1 only a thousand times better.

That looks really cool. Though the title seems a bit misleading considering half the marvel universe already seems to be dead in those recap pages. What's the thrust of the story?

I wonder if he gets bored of it? Like, he's walking along, enjoying the scenery, when "Rage Monkey D-List superhero" appears out of the forest, Frank shoots him absent-minded while he eats a sammich. Ho hum.

Not exactly a new MotW, but finally got my local library to get all the trades for Bone and up to date for the B.P.R.D. series.
Getting to read through Bone from start to finish in one sitting is an awesome experience. Great series.

And there is nothing on the cover or in the book saying it is for people over 13 or some kind of rating system, which surprises me.
It's almost a Wild West retelling of the first arc a little bit, then a bit like everyone got trapped in an Omega Sanction:

So no more Vibranium, anywhere. T'Challa realized it was the key problem that made Wakanda such dicks to the world, so he wants them to be better. This means Cap's shield should be a lot weaker, but I feel pretty confident this will never be dealt with.
So far 3 really good books this week.
Nah, they'll just say the shield is a unique alloy that is unaffected.

The Punisher remains a wild card for the moment. But one can't help but wonder if it's more in his character to side with Matt than all the others.
And in regards to Punisher being on Matt's team, there was something cool in MU vs. the Punisher:
Matt was eating a deer and Frank sniped him from yards away, and then even though it was a clean kill shot him six more times point blank because he never liked him. I chuckled
How many Ultimate Collections of Bendis and Brubaker Daredevil will there be total when they catch up?
runner-up is Van Lente's story in Deadpool #1000. the rest of the book is just meh to ok but that one story is fantastic
This was my Probably Unintentional Moment of the Week. I honestly can't remember the last time I found anything as funny as that first panel on the second page. The idea of someone performing an action and narrating that action at the same time is hilarious to me, especially when it's so out of place (like, I wouldn't bat an eye if I were reading a Silver Age book and this happened).
That's not Luke Cage, by the way. That's the Hulk. The first Hulk. Oh, what do you mean you've "never heard of the first Hulk, and thought that Banner was the first one"?

Not as thrilled by this as I was by Ultimates vol 1 and 2.
Hellboy #2 The Storm.
Gorgeous book. Finally beginning to twist some threads from BPRD back into Hellboy's own story.
Hellboy gets impaled. Again. To no apparent damage. I swear Mignola's done this like five times now since The Island. And then someone says 'Too Late' again.
Sometimes this book is amazing. Sometimes the dialogue/action reads like Mignola's got a wheel he spins with phrases and actions on it.
Guess it doesn't matter, as they both kinda suck I think. I mean, what the hell happened to Millar? Or was Hitch art that good that it blinded me from the horrible, horrible storytelling?
Ultimates 2 I was less pleased with, mostly because it revolved around politics a lot, and I'm allergic to politics. Also, it was less "action fuck yeah" and more "America fuck yeah". I love my country as much as any jingoist jerk, but I thought Ultimates 2 was a tad overbearing. Still, it had some pretty great moments (if I remember correctly, Hawkeye's nail-flinging scene was in this volume. That's one of my most favorite moments of badassery in any comic, ever).
Ultimate Avengers did not impress me. I just didn't feel like the moments were as over-the-top epic as those in Ultimates 1 and 2, and it's been basically slipping into over-the-top ridiculous territory pretty steadily. But, this is not the place for bitching.
I am not reading Ultimate Ultimates because I have read the beginning of Ultimates 3. "Fool me once", Loeb.

And it was drawn by Calafiore, the regular artist. What if the Ostrander fill-in was added at the last minute and that's what pushed this fill-in back? I don't know.

only a couple books like Dixon coming back to Robin, Blue Beetle, JSA and Booster Gold tickled my fancy until Blue Beetle was canceled, Dixon got fired, (I read the Niecieza Robin, though), JSA decided to be a gigantic prequel to Kingdom Come, and Booster Gold got terrible. It takes a lot for me to even look at a DC book anymore.
Nicieza Red Robin is good, Dixon good. I mean he's got the Tim/Dick interaction down to a T.
