Well it looks like I'm going to be putting up my buddy for ten weeks starting in september. It sounds fine, but I live in a shotgun style studio, I.E., one big room. And we would be having opposite schedules, so I would be coming home from work when he was trying to sleep.

He's aware of all this and is a pretty laid-back guy with not a lot of needs, so I think it should be fine.

    okay let me rephrase

I want a cheese that is less spicy than jalapeno jack

adding jalapenos to another cheese is not going to give me that effect

the jack itself is not spicy

thank you for the suggestions, but I think my point was lost

    there are two ways:

    1. use frozen broccoli

    2. steam the broccoli in the microwave beforehand and add it to the soup very very late. Just add it in while it's simmering: warm enough to spread the flavor but not hot enough to cook the broccoli any more.

Right, I'm saying that we can assess things based on commonality and/or consequences.

In other words, despite comments made about me to the contrary, I'm not going to defend any and all uncommon sexual practices or social behavior. Some things are clearly bad.

Usually, what we're saying by "normal" is "benign" or just "okay." It's okay to be gay, for instance. We've decided this (for the most part) as a society because we know now that being gay is benign.

I am not super-hardcore about spicy stuff. I like a good hot sauce with a lot of heat, but I like to be able to taste both the sauce and the food it's on.

Really, the best stuff I've found is Secret Aardvark out of Portland. But Tabasco is a fucking joke. You can basically drink it straight from the bottle.

Steam the broccoli, and make the cheddar part of the soup separate. Serve the cheddar part of the soup, then toss in the broccoli. I guess it's more broccoli with a load of cheese sauce, but it still tastes good.

I made the mistake once of thinking I'd have the house to myself for a long period of time since I thought all my roommates had left to visit family for the holidays. I was laying on the couch in my boxers watching some TV when I discovered that instead, my roommate had gone to meet his family for lunch and that they would then be coming to hang out at our place for a while. By his family I mean like, a lot of people, it was a bit embarassing.

Now days I just walk around the apartment in my boxers all the time and my roommates can just deal.
