Day 3 - Another Murder Spree Leaves London Shaken

Headline News - Murder of the late Dr. Watson's Fiancee Shocks Scotland Yard
    by: Langdale Pike

Not even a day after the death of the esteemed Dr. Watson, his fiancee Miss Mary Morstan will join him, side by side in the Vicar's Gardens Cemetary. Investigation into the events of her death turned up several surprises. Miss Morstan had been seen in the rougher side of the city, dressed in pauper's clothes, but was discovered snooping around by members of the Moriarty Gang. She fled, bleeding and broken, and was set upon by the serial killer. She was found a few blocks from Scotland Yard's HQ with her throat slit and genitals mutilated. ANy information she may have had regarding the Moriarty Gang bled out onto the cobblestone.

Members of Scotland Yard surged into the ironworks district, hunting both members of the Moriarty Gang and the serial killer, whom some have christened Jack the Ripper for the ragged cuts left in his victim's throats. Inspector Bradstreet arrested Miss Lace and locked her away from questioning after tips from other whores suggested that Miss Lace had witnessed the attack against Miss Morstan.

Another ladybird was found by the Scotland Yard sweep of the ironworks. She was abused and beaten and left for dead in an alley. She later succumed to her wounds after naming a member of the Moriarty Gang with her dying breath. Investigators discovered the corpse of the gang member with his throat ripped out and his body mangled. Scotland Yard is baffled and is seeking the aid of Sherlock Holmes, though it seems he has gone into hiding with the recent loss of his dearest friend and his fiancee.

In other news, Inspector Lestrade was found in a compromising position as he attempted to detain a another whore for questioning.

    The Dead
jdarksun (Moriarty Gang Member) - Throat ripped out and body mangled by bite marks of an unusual size
abotkin (Whore) - Arrested by Scotland Yard and tossed into dark, dank cells
Toxic Toys (Ladybird) - Cornered and pressured into servicing the Moriarty Gang down by the ironworks and then left to die in an alley
ronrab (Mary Morstan) - Beaten within an inch of her life and then had her throat slit and genitals mutilated

originally sided with jdark on his first foray, and only really switched once the bandwagon had pretty much switched.

unless someone else has a really good lead elsewhere, I think that's suspicious enough for me

    And then I thought, uh-oh. I'm stupid.

    So, Teucrian.

Seriously? jdark knew he was going out and used the opportunity to take out a grudge (he doesn't like when people misspell his name).

More info would be nice. But either way, Dogbone. Also, I am suspicious for just following the "network" head.

No. Bad train of thought. I do think we should trust Demurist... carefully. There are many scenarios in which no one would be speaking out against Demurist at this point:
    • The seer is dead
    • The seer did not target Demurist last night, either because they trust him, were roleblocked, redirected, etc
    • The seer wants a moutpiece to speak out against Demurist, but said mouthpiece does not exist yet/anymore
    • Demurist is a thrall

    etc.

It's likely Demurist is safe, and that he was seered last night. But not guaranteed.
