    I really didn't know anything about Day9 until SCII was released. After watching his dailies I really wish I had gone to his KoTB/launch party. Dude just seems like he would be really fun to be around.

    I can't wait for patch 1.1 so I can change the title to "Siege Tanks are dead! Long live Siege Tanks!" I want it nooooooooooow.

    But anytime I fight a ZP team in 2v2 I feel overwhelming relief.

    I liked beating the AI in 8 person FFA and 4v4 insane AIs as all one race. The lower achievements unlock too!

    I finally finished the campaign! Now I can get into playing the multiplayer on occasion.

    I'm still only even moderately confident with Terran though. I'd like to branch out at some point.

    I defended against Void rays with two queens, a spore, and transfusion today. It'probably not all that unusual, but i was the frist time I've done that so I felt like a boss.

    Someone on TL had a neat idea for improving spawn larva. Basically, add a notifier on the side of the screen (like warpgates) that lets you know how many hatcheries are ready to have spawn larva cast on.

    It would still require the same amount of actions to cast, it just wouldn't be so unforgiving for not having utterly perfect internal timing.

    Considering how the other macro mechanics have elements of forgiveness, and they already do the exact same thing for warpgates, i think it's a really good, reasonable idea. Saru you should go crack some skulls until it's implemented

    what they should really do is remove the notification and special hotkey for warpgates

    and the idle worker icon while they're at it
    also nexuses and orbital commands should have 50 max energy
    also each resource collection cycle should have to be done manually, workers are too stupid to know to return their shit and go back to work

    well i suppose that making the other macro mechanics way more frustrating would help balance it out. I'd prefer they make the zerg one less frustrating instead though

    But man I was playing this ZvZ last night, and my opponent started his first push with like a dozen lings just after I dropped my expo.

    My roommate was all, "you better cancel that!" and I'm all, nope.avi

    Let me tell you, an extra queen to transfuse roaches and spine crawlers makes all the difference in the world. I wouldn't hesitate to describe it as gosu-times-two 8-)

    You don't have to plant another hatchery to get another queen, you know. You can just build more from your original hatchery.

    I did that by building nothing but Zealots during my placement matches.

    I have been adding an extra queen early on and loving it to death. I've made it part of my 5 RR so once I hit about 32 supply I toss out an overlord then a queen. Pretty much use it to toss down 2-3 creep tumors, which spread so so soooo much quicker, and then keep it around for transfusion.

    if you want to be really crazy, you can try not making a queen at all until later. Day9 talked about his doing that somewhat recently.

    The only problem I see with this is that you must either thrown down another hatchery quick or sacrifice worker production a ton. Surviving early pressure without a Queen and that extra larva just doesn't seem like it would work.

    [strike]Well the idea is if you skip the queen-immediately-on-pool-finishing you have more resources that can go into powering out drones, giving you a big economy boost early on that balloons your later economy due to the whole exponential growth thing. If you scout that there will be or potentially could be early aggression that you think you'll need a queen to deal with rather than a few lings, you obviously don't skip the queen. Like if you see a walled off terran that might be going for fast banshees or cannon'd toss who might be rushing void rays.[/strike]

    I wonder if it depends on when you're throwing down the Spawning Pool. I usually toss mine down at 14 and I think that I have more than enough resources for both a Queen and continuing Drone production. I think I will go play around with this!
