It is definitely not as good as the Prime games, you are right about that.
The controls/gameplay are actually a lot tighter than I thought they would be, but switching to fps in a heated fight is annoying because you are rooted to the spot.
My biggest gripe so far is that I'm not really feeling the sense of immersion that the other Metroid games have given me. I'm just kinda there and running around, and I actually miss scanning things.
Well, you still scan some things, but they don't have cool descriptions.
Things that I DO like about Other M:
Infinite Missiles. Instead of farming gay little alien babies for missile drops you point the Wiimote up and hold A to refill, takes a few seconds.
When you get so low on health that you're beeping red and angry, the missile charge thing will also give you an energy tank back. Actually, just found an upgrade so this gives me two energy tanks back.
Samus moves really fast. Also just picked up Super Speed, and that + Shinespark are fun.
I got an NES in the Christmas of 1988 from my uncle who would always let me play his when I was visiting my Grandma's house (he was living in her basement still). Fond memories. I always played as Luigi because my cousin Heather would insist on playing first player. I never even beat the game until I got it for the Gameboy Color all those years later.
never played it so i'm not gonna be all high and mighty about that. LLTP is the best snes game though.
wait even i'm not sure about that forget it. yoshi's island is still a subpar mario iteration. maybe one of the best platformers to some but i hated it as a mario game.
Anyone else disappointed that the game coming out is the same game they released for the SNES?
Kind wish they had done Original NES games, All-Stars versions, World, Yoshi's Island, and GBA versions (with the e-reader content) . Maybe toss in 64 as a bonus.

It could have been done a lot better.
It was so very stereotypically Japanese.
I had fun with the game play itself, though.
I played some Super Mario RPG and Uncharted Waters last week on the SNES. They both hold up pretty well.

And I haven't even liked one of the "main" Mario games since 1991.
1-3 and SMW were just that awesome.

I only played it at demo kiosks initially, and the Nintendo 64 controller is an affront to God and man
I never played the game proper until the Wii Virtual Console
I didn't dig it, but I mean, it was ten years old at that time
