I used to feel it was a shade better than ENWorld but now I'm beginning to think that may have just been Stockholm syndrome kicking in. I honestly don't really know a place that I'd like to discuss gaming, though, aside from a select few here in chat like you guys and poshniallo. (Even the D&D thread in CF, while it is leagues better than those places, tends to be a bit too nuts-and-bolts mechanical for me.)
There should probably be a separate thread in CF for flavor and campaign considerations and such.
But such a thread would quickly fall off the front page and die in a forum that full of PbPs and Phallas.

Mostly I just talk gaming in here or whatever or in #mafia or in whatever or yeah I don't have a place.

The problem with fluff discussions is that there isn't anywhere to go after you share your idea and people say "oh that's neat."
Maybe someone should start a "Let's Build an Adventure" thread.

No worries, man. And hey, if things fall through and your wife can't play at all, I really love DMing, so maybe I could run a game or two for you and the rest of your friends.
Glee!

I don't know, I think there's plenty of scope to discuss fluff without people just submitting ideas all the time. God knows while rpg.net has its faults it does have a lot of interesting discussions about, say, "what stories are best suited for Dark Sun?" that manage to keep mechanics at arms' length.
I am playing through Donkey Kong Country 1 and it is actually a hard game.
it's so goooooood
one of my favorite games
erm theres a fairly easy way for you to play it portably

like here is my impression of the CF thread:
Poster: I have a question about mordenkrads.
Aegeri: [three-paragraph comparison of the relative merits of various two-handed superior weapons and the Brutal property]
DevoutlyApathetic: I disagree!
Skycaptain: In my campaign mordenkrads and claw hammers were exterminated in the great purge of the Thirteenth Era.
tastydonuts: meh

Choco was playing minecraft with me but mysteriously went AFK.
He is standing in the middle of this massive tower that reaches to the skybox, full of a series of cascading waterfalls.
Encase him in 10 layers of obsidian and give him only TNT to escape? (y/n)

that is pretty much how it goes
occasionally ravensmuse or I will then mention how things used to be in 2nd edition

I keep my second edition jokes here mostly because I'm afraid I'll remember something wrong.

What's funny is that everyone remembers stuff about second edition wrong. Like, that's its defining characteristic. There will be these huge furballs on rpg.net as people fight over, like, the rules for bonus XP for classes with a 16 in their prime requisite and it always ends with someone going "wait, I never saw that chapter."

I know that, I wanted to know if he was doing it the hard way by mining it or he made a machine that directed lava and water together to automate the process.

They tried to bury us. They didn't know that we were seeds. 2018 Midterms. Get your shit together.

Blackboard is shitty in general.

That's the frustrating thing, yeah. There has got to be a better way to organize that stuff.

yyyyyyyyyy
He is probably referring to the GBA or DS rerelease of the title.
There was one of those, right?
Let's play Mario Kart or something...
Did you make a machine.
you cool lava with water
Obviously I mean its not like there are less then legal ways to play NES and SNES games on your DS.

its lego for neckbeards

More complicated computer version of Legos.
I guess it's like dwarf fortress, but you are the dwarves
and less people make fun of it
that part I actually like
I still own the original Gameboy Donkey Kong Land game. It was terrific. As good as DKC.
I keep my second edition jokes here mostly because I'm afraid I'll remember something wrong.
More like C-homo
Actually their one pass system and access control stuff is pretty sweet.
hehehe
I have it on virtual console and snes so that's enough but I like how you're thinking
Pour water on lava, harvest with diamond pickaxe. It takes absolutely forever. I didn't have enough for even a single shell around choco.

He tried to paw it off but then he got distracted by how huffable the bag was
