If you can't cool it down by blowing out the vents with canned air you'll have to take it apart and remove dust that way. Beyond that there's not much you can do. With laptops you're basically at the mercy of the engineering of the machine.

I wonder if modual laptops will ever catch on

it's be really nice to, you know, be able to tweak and fix your laptop without cracking it open

    yeah, that would be overheating

    actually

if the case isn't getting hot, it's entirely possible the heat sensor has gone whacko

either way, that is the source of your issues

this is what my heat profile looks like:

What is 78 degrees? What is the name of the censor? If it's the CPU (and not the cores), yes that is too hot for idling.

Celsius is usually how temperature is measured by the sensors. 25 degrees celsius (78 F) isn't even a temperature I've reached in my well cooled desktop.

Mine runs at about 89F, I think. Seems to be relatively average.

If Inky is still here, I would like him to know that the troll arc just ended, granted he still cares about MSPA at all anymore.

Overall I liked it a lot, but you probably won't.

I usually ignore the temperature of the cores. The temperature for the entire processor is good enough and it's easier to decipher.

Ok, I'm really starting to see the upside of the whole Free To Play thing in LOTRO. Even with crit-items the odds of a critical success when crafting with my tools is only 55%. So, in making tools and armor and such for all the new PA people (and my own chars), I had a lot of extra non-critted items clogging up my bags. Prior to f2p these were unsellable at the AH.

In the last day or so every single damn one sold. And for decent money. Probably got around 750s in all for all of em.

Normally I would agree but if one of the cores is having a problem the overall might not be too much hotter while the core is running extremely hot. This is rare though.
