Ground Zero Games - I have some of their models, but their online store is hampered by an extreme lack of photos http://www.groundzerogames.net/
Heresy Miniatures - For when you need a unique looking miniature for your Inquisitor Reitnu.. Hey, is that David Tennant? http://www.heresyminiatures.com/
This french site has a really nice looking Mycetic Spore. Unfortunately, being in french means I have absolutely no idea how to order one of them.
Paulson Games has something else that's pretty critical. Since GW decided not to actually make accessories to give Warriors bone swords and lash whips, these guys haveboth.
20guardians, shuriken cannon
Warlock with singing spear, conceal and spirit seer
2 squads of 10 barebones Dire avengers
2 wraithlords with eldar missile launcher and brightlance
Man I hate guardians.
yeah but i need something to act as a blobish screen

I only just realized that Marbo is an anagram of Rambo. And I only realized it reading the 5th ed codex, where it says Marbo is the ultimate soldier and a veritable one man army. 'Man, that sounds a lot like Ramb... Oh fuck me I'm slow.'
So I'm going to a 40k Doubles tourny tomorrow and I'm bringing my orks. We have to write up some fluff as to why your army is teaming up with your partners, which is kind of hard when my friends are all Marines. Doublely hard when I don't really know who my partner will be tomorrow (we have a handful of 'maybes' that might be coming.
So I wrote this up just now, nice and gerneric like :P
Oi! So me'n da boyz wuz cruzin' round da wastes look'n for sumfing to KRUMP whenz I see dem colourful Umie boyz prepp'n for WAR! Dem funny look'n 'Umies looked pretty scared if you wuz askin' me! Dey were all 'oh noes, we might not make it through da night!"
So I sayz to Smoka I sayz, OI! If deez 'Umies are scared of somefing, it must be da biggest baddest fing around! BUT DEY HAVEN'T SEEN ME YET!
Smoka sayz to me, but boss, if doez 'Umies don't know youz the biggest den you should show dem! By Kumpin' what dey scared ov!
Smoka alwayz have more brains then krumpz, but dat just why I keep 'im around.
So we will watch dem 'Umies piss into their bright lil' booties and we'll wait. Den when da big bad comes, I'd show them who's da baddest!
WAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Note that I'm not the best at 'Ork Speak' so suggestions are welcome I guess :P

Orks wouldn't care one whit about impressin' 'umies though. Krumpin' dere boss and tellin' 'em yous in charge now, an' dey better like it or dey can come get dere lumps like wot e' did, that would be well in style.
Also, your waagh is neither big nor green enuff. Permit me to demonstrate:

I feel a little bit pathetic that I now have proficient ability to proof-read all that Ork grammar. There is actually a specific way ork-speak has to be written, and certain obvious fuck up aren't allowed while other's are..
My job is awesome, but some of it demeans me as a person just a little.
My favorite ork word is "We'z'll."
Also I once got into an argument with a designer about the correct use of 'dis' and 'dat.'
Also first 40k game ever. At what point total should it be?
Well, really depends on what models you have ready :P 500 and 750 are good for learning, though you don't get many toys. 1000 if you can pull it off would be best, I think. Also, always remember that 1500 is the best points level you can play, and its the level that 40k is designed to be played at and be the most balanced.

The following people are amazing and I love them: Wildcat, Timspork, Kias, Denada, susan, Sharp101, [GHSC]Ryctor, Matev, Matrias, ItBurns, Slapnuts, Dayspring, see317, and the unknown poster that sent me a box of Death Company! If you get them as Santees you should buy them amazing things!

I like playing 500 points armies for how quick and messy they are. but a lot of armies suck at 500 points

Oh right to be clear, this would be on vassal. The nearest games workshop is an hour away. Like by car. Which i don't have. So yeah.
For Vassal id prolly go with 1k... big games on vassal can take forever

The Incubus models were what initially attracted me to the Dark Eldar way back when in the 90s. These look even more imposing.
The only part that I'm a little bummed on with the new Incubi is that they don't have the helm design that added to the rumours of them being the dark mirror of the Striking Scorpions, and that the first master of the incubi was the fallen Pheonix Lord.
It's made up for the loss of that by making them look crazy awesome however.
This thread kinda made me curious as to how to play 40k.. I picked up a rulebook and read it front to back. Can't wait to start playing. I'm deciding whether or not to buy assault on black reach or I found a craigslisting posting in my area for the following (see below) with an asking price that's easily in my range. If I get this bundle, how will it transfer to current edition? Are all the models still 'useable'? Thanks for the input!
Box set 2nd and 3rd edition
Dark millennium
Assorted 2nd and 3rd ed codexes
Minatures- 10 man Tactical Squad
5 man Devasator Squad
5 man Assualt Squad
Space MarineRazorback
5man Raptor Squad
10 man Chaos Squad
5 man Plague Marine Squad
Chaos Dreadnought
10 man Khorne Berzerker Squad
Chaos Marine Champion
What army are you aiming to start? Chaos Marines or Standard Marines? If the former, I'd pass on that lot, since it has a definite Chaos focus, and its hard to de-chaos chaos models. If the latter, then I'd grab it. It's far easier to chaosify standard marines than vice versa.
The Assaults can be Raptors, and the Devs can be Havoks. Those options certainly aren't the strongest in the Chaos Marine codex, but they're not terrible and have roles to fill. Tactical squad can be a chaos marine squad very easily. Plague Marines are tough as nails and never a bad choice. Khorne Berserkers are very good, and you can use the razorback as a standard rhino, which is good for everyone. (The Chaos codex does not include Razorbacks). Chaos Dreads are a bit olol random, but they're always fun if you're a light hearted player that doesn't mind one of his own units decimating a portion of his army on a bad roll :P
As for Assault on Black Reach, its a solid buy. If you're going for a loyalist marine army, I recommend it every day of the week. If you're leaning toward Chaos, I'd probably say to go with a chaos battleforce (since you already have a rulebook.) Its not the best battle force, but it give you bodies, TONS OF SPIKEY BITS, and a rhino

I'd like to start with space marines. Can I get two small armies out of that list? What exactly comes with the boxed sets.. Google tells me orks and space marines are contained in the 2nd edition. Can't find info on third. I really need to talk to the seller tomorrow but I'm guessing it's two full box sets plus all those models listed.. Big score for $125

Third edition is Space Marines and Dark Eldar.
The second edition box has some quirky goodness, like a card board cut out to use as an ork dreadnought.

Yes I saw that in some pics from google! Made me smile. I'll just disregard that. As long as the pieces can be used to play small beginner games between me and a friend I'll be happy. It's all unpainted too so it'll give me some good practice.
Yeah the 2nd ed marine models are terrible alone, but if you mix them in squads made of mostly 3rd, 4th, and 5th ed models they are fine. To answer your other question yes you can get a usable and legal marine army and chaos marine army out of that list. Not a great army, and it looks like it is biased towards chaos, but you can learn how to play with that.
Thanks for all the input. I'm gonna jump on this as soon as I get paid. I'll probably buy assault on black reach down the road. What edition are those models from? Hopefully this will convince my roommate to buy a tyranid army! Any good tips on throwing a paint/detail kit together similar to the Citadel kit but on the cheap? I know the paint is pricey but I'm sure those tools could be found for much less monies.
Assault on Black Reach is the current edition starter set (5th)

I wasn't too worried about tweaking the normals individually, I just did a quick dirty job for the whole model to get a render. Not much point putting tons of work into it when I still need to unwrap, texture, animate, and finally put into a final product with other things...

So yeah, I've figured out my second army. Annoying that it is once again melee centric, but it's something I've wanted to do for ages and has few models. A World Eaters warband.
Zhufor (he's badass) with 4 Terminators in a Land Raider and 3 Berzerker squads in Rhinos. There's buried Power Fists in there and combi meltas on the terminators for anti tank, along with the land raiders lascannons. 1500pts.
There are some acts so ruthless, some deeds so unpalatable, that only the Vlka Fenryka are capable of undertaking them. It's what we were bred for. It's the way we were designed. Without qualm or sentiment, without hesitation or whimsy. We take pride in being the only Astartes who will never, under any circumstances, refuse to strike on the Allfather's behalf, no matter what the target, no matter what the cause.
Did someone post and delete? Wtf are you guys talking about? :P

There's also chapterhouse studios. They have a lot of Space Marine stuff, but also more Tyranid stuff. Awesome Ymgarl heads, and a conversion kit for making a Tervigon out of a Carnifex.

I agree with you but the new Archon's helm confused me I thought he had two faces but it was a rather poor paint/lighting/highlight that confused me
