Hm. Torres won sub of the night, instead of Zhang Tie Quan.
Fuck you, Dana White.
Well, you already know that nobody listens to you around these parts.. :P
You're right, though- Quan's guillotine (once he stopped floundering from the first failed attempt and locked it in) was nasty. Torre's RNC wasn't bad either, though.
how come reem's kryptonite badr hari isn't involved this year
they're 1-1 so I'm not sure if Kryptonite is an apt description

is it just me or is putting bader and jones against each other kind of a dumb move by the UFC? Seems like it's too early to potentially knock one off the path of being a contender.

Its true, but I wonder who else they would go up against. These two are both up and comers still, any higher in the division and you have the cream of the crop guys like Rampage or Machida or Thiago Silva. Highly skilled, all of them, and also far more experienced. I guess Thiago Silva would be a good one, but given the timing I could see the winner of Bones/Bader getting the lose of Rampage/Machida.
The winner of Bader/Jones is thrown directly into the top 5 mix with Rashad, Machida, Rampage, Forrest and Shogun, which will be really fun.
yes, Forrest is still up there. He may have lost to Anderson and Rashad, but they are pretty great fighters and there's no shame in that. On top of it, despite circumstance, he does have wins over the current Champion and one of the top guys as well in Rampage. He is also a fan favourite. One more win and he's in title contention soon enough
The punch that dropped him the second time was really sick.
I always wanted to know what it would look like to lose an entire year of middle school education due to an overhand right. Now thanks to this video I can do just that by forwarding to about 2:30
They just did the intro for the K-1 MAX event and one of the fighters from Thailand is named SAGATpetch. I'm expecting his match to end with a tiger uppercut.
Wow, these smaller guys are putting on a show. It's like K-1 MAX is the WEC version of the normal K-1.

It looks like Overeem just loves to fight. Right after he threw that second hook that knocked Edwards down he just walked away, he wasn't excited, he didn't start jumping around, he just went to a neutral corner. Because Allistar Overeem's job is to punch and knee craters into people's heads, and business is good.
I don't understand why the UFC never got Overeem. The guy is probably the most entertaining heavyweight in all of MMA. All his fights seem to end in finishes, and even when he loses devastatingly he usually puts up a fun fight first.
On top of this, American audiences love hulks like Alistair! I really hope the UFC gets him, because there are some very fun matchups for him there. I personally would love to see how he handles all the wrestlers

Isn't it mostly that they won't let him fight in K1?
Edit: Watched that vid, Jesus, The Reem really is a comic book Superhero isn't he?
I remember Alistair showed up in one of Dana's video blogs a year ago or so. Unfortunately, the thing with UFC contracts is that they're very exclusive. Alistair probably enjoys the freedom he has right now, which allows him to compete in both MMA and K1 competitions.
Too bad, I'd love to see him in the UFC. He really seems to be hitting his prime at this point in his career.

Aye, Don't Strikeforce actually pay better too (unless your like, Brock or something)? I mean I know you can get a bigger name in the UFC but they do make you pay for it, lower salary but more chance of sponsorship etc...
Lets talk about how bad Michael Johnson is, especially at the whole, "Dont let this guy who is otherwise a fish casually stand up when you have his back, rather it be hooks or riding"
He absolutely destroyed his prelim fight, but his 1st house fight was sloppy as hell until the 3rd round when he looked like he did in the prelim fight.

Pretty bad.
Worse was that he didn't learn. English clearly had good defense from that position, he was always able to get up from there. Johnson insisted on trying it every time though, even though he was just handing his opponent an escape.

Torres' RNC was nice but I always hate to see Dana White perpetuating his racism.

Weird picks is what I do
This is why I often get super scores one round and then completely horrible the next

That ended up being the face of the man who defeated Fedor. I'm still astonished.

Of course I could have been misinformed.
