Thanks to an awesome person on here I have my Scroll of Res up.

Man, it's so odd going back into the game on my DK. She used to be geared OK when I left WoW for a while, but that was way back in 3.2...

I'm looking up the latest specs, all that and one of my old buddies tells me that Tuesday is 4.0 and new specs. Made me waste a bunch of gold regemming and re gylphing, Dx. Oh well, I can't wait.

Also, my Battlegroup is still god-awful in Battlegrounds, so even that can't change after 9 months.

I've seen good tanks do it in the middle of the room. Mostly the ones I see bailing are warriors but even then I've seen warriors tank it in the middle.

I don't mind the corner strat, I just hate what it does with my camera while I'm trying to target stuff.

If I get HoR as the random on one of my tanks when I'm solo queuing, I leave. I'm not wasting my time plus the possibility of a repair bill for complete strangers that, more likely than not, suck. It is not worth the effort.

I was going to crack wise about focusing down adds being hard and most of the difficulty in that instance depends on whether the tank is worth a damn or not but then I remembered that the playerbase at large really is primarily fail. :\

Well, I dislike the corner strat, but fighting in the middle also gives me nightmares. I think one of the first times I was in there with my Resto Shaman I had a tank trying to do it in the middle. And everyone I was trying to heal would always run out of LoS a microsecond before the spell finished.

The entrance strat is the best, imo. And also I wonder which dungeon will be the HHoR of Cataclysm: Having 2 different strategies to do it and people endlessly debating which is best.

When I tank there, I stand in the middle or entrance and announce that that's where I'm tanking them...
and watch as everyoen but the healer hides behind the pillar. I find it funny. Like, if you do something different than the corner, THE WHOLE WORLD WILL FUCKING EXPLODE. I like to attribute the reason why it works so well in the open is because you can see where everything is. And standing on the healer telling them to spam heals on you so the mobs run right for them makes it easier, I think. And again, because I'm on a warrior, I can dash left and right and collect them pretty quickly, and stay very close to the healer in the middle or entrance.

My last couple of runs, the tank just tanked it out in the open near the cubby hole. I've never even seen the entrance strat, and thus I've never seen anyone debating it.

Doing it in the open is the best strat. The cubby is simply to make sure groups without CC don't get fucked over. At the proper ilevel, having all mobs hitting the tank is pretty brutal, ESPECIALLY if the fucking rogues stun you. Really, having CC for ONE rogue makes a huge difference.

HHoR, I tried tanking in the middle once and got destroyed. This was after the nagging/laughing of the other group mates that I still tanked LoS.

After we wiped from my death (I think it was planned as I never got healed >_<) I moved into the LoS position and said I'm going back to this.

They proceeded to laugh again and mock me *sigh*

... so I let them all get aggro and die before I left the group ^_^

    I am that petty, yes.

Still, I'm all for learning how to tank in the middle or the opening. Guess I just need to figure it out with people who aren't total douchebags (as in not using the random dungeon finder).

I've seen Warrior tanks take the middle and the entrance cubby with little difficulty because of how damn mobile those guys are. DKs/Paladin tanks, and my DK? I'm sticking to that corner behind Falric, I've got about as much mobility as a gelatinous cube.

Yeah, they'll pretty much never come right out and say "Patch today!" just in case some catastrophic bug or something is found at the last minute and they can't roll it out. That way the Typical Blizzard Fan™ can't go into a mouth-foamy nerdrage about being "promised a patch today!"
