I just wanted to get in on a pre-xpac event this time around. I always seem to let my sub lapse right before and miss them.
Also, it'd be nice to get in credit for a ZG clear before it's gone. Since I could never convince anyone to do anything but the mount bosses, and soloing Hakkar was just an endless cycle of mindcontrols and resets.

Hakkar has never MCed me when I've soloed him. Jin'do does, but it breaks so quickly that he doesn't reset.
edit: Welp, there goes my realm. I love patch day.
Hakkar will MC only when there are two or more "characters" on his threat table. So you can't have a pet out that it's possible for him to kill or poof (shaman wolves), because if he kills it and you're still MC'd he'll reset.
Who else is excited to wake up tomorrow (or for you morning shift folk; get home from work tomorrow) to witness the wonderous thing that is the blizzard patch day
It will be glorious.

I expect a lot of "THIS IS AN OUTRAGE" and "THIS IS A CATASTROPHE" so pretty much like every patchday ever.
I don't get it. I would solo him on my paladin, whittle him down for awhile, and then he'd MC me. Not long after that, he'd reset. No pets, and I would be the only person in the instance. Unless having someone in the same group as me, rather than another group in the raid, would put them on the same threat table?

It's a hassle, but I guess I'll have to make a full set of glyphs for all my characters today (Europe patchday is tomorrow), because the required mats will triple. Not looking forward to that, because the Ink exchange system is tedious. On the other hand, it would be even worse without it.
I thought about buying a l0ot of glyphs and selling them after the patch for a profit, but prices are so high already, I'm not willing to take that risk. I expect that there are several moguls just sitting on guild banks full of glyphs.
I considered getting on my druid and farming up enough ink to make all the glyphs I wanted, but eh. It'll be easy enough to do after the patch, and I have a bunch of ink kicking around her bank already.

Yeah, only other bosses I bothered with were the tiger and raptor bosses. Do they all have to be taken out?
Not all. Leaving spider boss up just leaves him with a ~5 second stun, but I would recommend killing the rest for ease of murder. Otherwise he'll fuck with you like that.

This, other than I was ~4 badges from buying the frost idol/trinket for my two tank mains, makes not being able to play quite a tussle.
The last part of the patch is around 80mb if you already got stages 1-3 from the background downloader. Total patch size is 4.76gb if you had it disabled.

Hmm. What I heard was that most glyphs just turn into their new counterpart but that some glyphs that have no new version turn into the Charred Glyph.
Also no new glyphs to learn, if you know all current ones already.
Bleh, I've been trying to work ahead with figuring out my builds for 4.0.1 with the wowhead calculator.
The problem is that for some reason, they don't appear to be saving. It'll save the glyphs but the talent points are all reset.
For the record, I am clicking the "link to this build" button and bookmarking the resulting page.

They changed it a while back so that you can just bookmark the page you're on (it's automagically updating the URL as you spend talents). But your way should also work, so I don't know what's wrong.
Wowhead works fine for me, whereas wowtal.com doesn't even load.
If you already have the files they should look like this:
The launcher will scan them and verify that they're correct then apply them. If they became corrupt somehow and it's forcing a redownload you may be SOL

Ironic that I run out of game time right as this patch drops.
Good thing the GF has her account still active. Will have to log on later to revel in the crazy.

How big is this patch? I was installing it this morning and somehow ran out of HD space! I'll have to clear up some...questionable materials from my HD.
4.68GB I believe was the number I saw when I manually turned on the background downloader last night (hope I did that correctly and got the DL out of the way, it went awfully quickly).

I haven't touched my scribe in months, and when I left him he had about 1000 glyphs in inventory. Hopefully I won't get too burned by the charred glpyh thing.

I just got up for work, and hey it looks like its patching.

I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us

I spent a couple hours this morning just installing the new downloader and stuff.
It's amazing how fast my new internet is: 680 kbs right now, as opposed to the 20 kbs I was getting before.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
The problem wasn't downloading the patch. It was installing the damn thing. I just checked Blizz forums; you need at least 18GB free space in your HD to install/patch.

Panther gives him the gouge, which I guess is probably irrelevant if you are soloing him.
weird that he still MCs you though. When I would kill him on my warlock with the felguard tanking, I don't think he ever mind controlled me.

Several people have told me I cannot finish the AQ event because they removed a few bosses or mobs?
Are we going to get extra character slots I remember there was survey about paying for it
Are the new major glyphs something the trainer teaches or that hell of the book drop again?

MC is one of Hakkar's intrinsic abilities I believe.

He will MC you if you have any guardian or pets up. DKs can't use bloodworms or ghouls when fighting him.
Basically, he will MC you if there is anything else on his threat table at all, but otherwise will not.
Then again I did do all the pre-downloads, so I wonder if I just need the "activater" patch which may not be out yet.
