Ledneh. You have been asking lots of questions about Widows.

Lots of questions about Widows... in the bad place!

I like how the alignment line doesn't even stray into purple

that is presumably the space where all the anarchists and stalinists hang out

    Warshades, yo.

I was doing Pony's AE arc with my 50 Ill/Rad and I kept getting flattened in a particularly ASSHOLE NASTY warehouse...asshole.

So I pool my inf together and come up with 800 million.
Then I respecced her 2nd build so I could have more attacks, which I got out of the Ice Mastery just fine.
I was able to buy 1set of purple, the Coercive Persuasion, which is by far the cheapest set to acquire.
I was also able to buy a Luck of the Gambler global recharge and a Numina's Regen/Recovery.
I already had a Steadfast Protection: Knockback and a few other enhancements that fit the build but I had to buy the rest.
It took me ALL day to buy recipes, scour my other characters for Rare Salvage, and then make them. All day.
I have 150 million left and need to buy three sets of purples.
Suffice to say, I will be farming a lot.

However, I subbed the purple sets with some good ones for the time being.
    I retried Pony's AE Arc again...no deaths.

Here is my build as it stands now...

75% to 91%, yes if only because with AM and Hasten they are both permanent. The real goal though, needs to be 110% at that point, both previous powers are permanent, and they bring Phantom Army along for the ride.

Yeah, you could also use a-merits and get a few more lotgs (group invis maybe?), though that build looks pretty tight on slots as it stands. Maybe switch out air sup for hover and put one there, if your attack chain can afford it.

Which is what I am after. AM and PA being perma.
As it is now, between groups(I'm running +1/x8) I am waiting not long at all for PA to come up but it would be awesome to have them available whenever I need them.

Well, at least my fire/kin is purpled out from when Apocalypses only cost 50 million instead of 300...

Chilling Embrace is not a good power and not worth it. Drop that, both of you, and take Power Boost instead. You will get roughly a billion times more use from Power Boost than Chilling Embrace could ever possibly give you ever.

Now I'm having second thoughts about taking soul mastery on my fire/ice tank; focused accuracy isn't that big of a drain as I thought (used when needed), and it's actually pretty good versus nemesis vengeance and arachnos smoke grenades.

So it comes down to +tohit/recovery/OP torrent versus more single target damage, aoe and darkest night.

Maybe I should just use my second build, spend another billion+ inf on it and have both, hmm....

I am a person who always forgets to click Build Up, I'd never remember Power Boost, and don't see many powers that'd benefit much from it.

The duration on my mez is insane anyhow, so I'd get... bonus slows from my Ice Assault stuff, Sleet and Ice Storm? Woo.

Chilling embrace isn't a great choice because it's end/sec you could use for other things, and if you need to keep guys within hot feet, your aoe snare is right there.

In other news, free weekend over :( The new stuff seems cool though. Is there a date for i19 yet? I might buy a month or two once all my guys have inherent stamina.

He also took fire cages and has it slotted well enough that it reloads in 4 seconds. So if he's looking to keep things from running, then problem solved.
More importantly, Power Boost doesn't just affect mezzes. It's (nearly) every secondary effect. So the -res and -def in Sleet will be enhanced as will the +hp/healing from Hoarfrost and every slow in all his ice powers.

the best way to do doc q is to do it in shifts. If you have six or seven people, two at a time can log out/go afk/ride bikes for a half an hour, then come back fresh and not deranged from tedium.

But it's a free snowflake aura to go with my sparkles. :(

On a more serious note, I find that if I'm running CE, and I miss something with a control, they only get one shot at me anyway because they die before their attack recharges.

Doesn't it have a massive 50% recharge debuff for Dominators that stacks with all the other Ice Assault stuff?

Also also, Lepwave was helping me out to squeeze some more recharge out of my build without a respec, which I'd be doing when Issue 19 rolled around. Into a more optimal build. With Power Boost. (Which I'll probably forget to use.)

Basically this yeah. It all boils down to lasers.

Also there's so many demons and angsty heroes that I like playing the occasional super bright character.

I really need to start screenshotting the really good (read: bad) bios I see while waiting for Hami raids to start.

Yeah, I tried (very briefly) to replay my PB last night.

After about a minute, I remembered why he was named "Epic Failure"; every attack worth a damn has ~50-80% chance for mag 4 KB. So you hit a group, it goes flying all over, and you annoy everyone else at the same time.

Fiaryn should make a character concept from that, I'm sure he's getting lots of inspiration from all that bio browsing :)

They should give every set with Knockback a free tenth power. It would be a Swap Ammo power that let you toggle between KB and No KB

Or just duplicate the KB power sets without the knockback component. Give them a different natural color (that can of course be changed to the players preferences, even to look like the original set) and a new name based on the old one to reflect the newer sans-knockback powers.

Don't have to rework the game to give some people a new power removing their KB, don't have to hear the whining from all the players whose power sets don't get a new power, don't have to hear whining about how hard it is to get the non-KB IO or how expensive it is in the black market. And, as a bonus, you get a half dozen new power sets who's only difference is a color shift and removal of an annoying secondary effect.
Really, the only people who lose with this are the ones who don't want to level a new character up just to not have KB on their attacks. Chances are most of the people who are sick of leveling new characters aren't playing anymore.
