This precocious 8 month old female was adopted from the local shelter yesterday. Still no name. So far the names my mom has thrown around are dumb. Help me out, but keep in mind my mom isn't a geek, nor is she an intellectual, so keep em within the realm of normalcy.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn
Unfortunately I don't get to name the dog we adopted, cause he already had a name that I guess the shelter gave him. But he sort of knows it, and is already co-dependent as hell so I don't want to add onto it by renaming him Bowser (which was what I was gonna call him).
For the cat of a non-geek non intellectual, I would recommend Whiskers or Biscuit, or Kate.
I don't know why Kate or Katie appeal to me as non-reference cat names. Now I want a tabby cat of my own to name Kate, to terrorize Rusalka and Kovacs.
My mom is leaning towards "Missy" because she thinks it's an easy name for calling the cat. She acknowledges that it's not very creative.
We are the people that had a golden retriever named "Roger" which everyone thought was the dumbest dog name they'd ever heard, so I guess we have a track record to keep to.
It's probably too obvious since it's a tabby. But, you have the best of both worlds. She'll have a formal sounding name and your mom can call her Missy.

Or you could let your mom name her cat whatever she want, even if it is lame.
She's asked me for help.
