Wait, there were villagers that were vote immune? People that we had to kill in 7 days via RNG?

Unfortunately the other neutrals were geese.
Except, the other neutral's only VC was the exact opposite of yours. Sure we might have been able to ally with the reapers instead, but with the number of seers, it was way easier to establish and support a village network instead

    i uh

guarded zandracon for most of the game

i guess? that was what i did? it was pretty okay.
guard duty is generally not very exciting, unless you're playing double bluff with the mafia.

    thanks for running, green!

I thought it would be interesting to have a guarding mechanic that actually got used up over the game. Of course, none of those that were guarded ever got attacked, so...

Also just to clear things up.

Infidel was separate from the Reapers.

It was a misunderstanding on my part. Due to the information I had received. Mainly that he had been working with them, when he hadn't been (I've learned). Just to clear the air.

I have apologized as you can imagine.

What I'm basically saying is that the selfless role PM should have also said "You do not need to be alive to win." as well as the guarding bit.

Of course, a better step is to just make all village-aligned players not have a survival condition!

    Also, the last few Missions:
    Day 5 Mission

Today's Mission is all about Speed! Now's your chance to settle any old grudges, players!

Mission: Vote for a player to be Erased. The first vote will target that player for Erasure at the end of the day.
    Time Limit: 10 minutes

    Fail, and face Erasure.
    - The Reapers

    Day 6 Mission

Today's Mission is another Reaper Review! Have you heard of this game called Tin Pin?! It's awesome! (All three correct answers must be in 1 post to complete this Mission.)

    Mission:
    1. Name the 4 Tin Pin Whammies.
    2. Where is the Tin Pin Slam-off held?
    3. Who is Shooter's BFF, the designer of Tin Pin Wind?
    Time Limit: 20 minutes

    Fail, and face Erasure.
    - The Reapers

    Day 7 Mission

Your final Mission is all about Survival! Good luck, players! You'll need it.

    Mission: Survive.
    Time Limit: All day

    Fail, and... well, you know.
    - The Reapers

The romanqwerty wagon actually pointed out to me a fatal flaw in the way Phalla players think, which is that someone says "SEER SAYS THEY'RE MAFIA!" and then everyone goes "OH SHIT!" and votes for them without validating the source.

There was no reason to trust Egos's post. It was true in this case, but that willingness to assume seer validity strikes me as something that a clever mafia could abuse quite easily.

There was every reason to trust Egos.

He saved our asses by making sure the GM missions were at opportune times and we were prepared for them with subtle hints.
And him calling The Producer's kill on Mr. Big Bad Reaper Infidel.

Yeah, the number 1 thing (besides that there were way too many seers making networking ridiculously easy) that unbalanced the game was that Egos was way too freaking helpful as a GM. I asked/suggested as such on the 2nd day that there should have been consequences for helping out the village as such.

I vaguely remember one of the characters in the game getting erased for helping the players?

To be fair it doesnt fit the source material that the GM be elected by the player base and be publicly known :)

The Composer was immune to your daily kill, which ideally was supposed to mean you either align with the Reapers to vote him out or take the GM spot and use that kill on him.

If I recall correctly the first steps in the 'What if my game is a farangu phalla? - Recovery Program' are

    1. Give the mafia back their standard vanilla traits in case they got less (unmasoned, RNG kills)
    2. Reduce village specials

    and revise from there.

I think the problem is that hosts try to avoid villager boredom by making too many people specials which is a terrible solution to the problem. Its much better to try and make being a villager interesting rather than just reducing their numbers.

Well that was my first phalla in nearly a year and my first main phalla!

It was a lot of fun -- I don't think I'm very good at them though but was nice to be on the winning side for once. I'm glad my "vote kime" thing turned out not to bite me ;)

I was a selfless player. I was guarding Egos each night but still didn't trust him 100%. Having no network an no idea how many mafia there were I thought Egos and kime could be mafia and were building trust to do a one night kill-a-thon which would expose them but by then be too late for us villagers.

I enjoyed it -- thank you Green! I wish I was able to get involved in the networks, though. More fun not being all by yourself ;)

    Man...

It's worse - there were six of us. Yeah...

Upon receiving the role PM, the first thing I did was ask if we were the mafia, because otherwise that just seemed like too many. Then I spent the rest of the game worried about how powerful the mafia had to be to balance this.
