Great plot? That's a big change from the no plot at all of the old Wizardry games. I kind of dug not having one, but I can't really call a good plot a deterrent.

Yeah, it's very plot driven. Probably because it was made in Japan.
A town called Duhan was decimated by a disaster called the Flash, and turned it to a fog-filled wasteland. A labyrinth appears beneath the city, and you're tasked to go find the Queen who vanished into the underground.

Shit yeah, I'm into that. I'll probably pick that up soon.
Vagrant Story will ever be the most enjoyable game I ever wasted time on. I must have spent four straight months on that game with no others interfering, not even Suikoden II.

Nier is not the best motherfucking game, that is just Rent going into shock from playing a JRPG with some decent writing for a change
it's more like
okay i will have to use punctuation for this one
It's more like games such as Silent Hill 2 or MGS2 or, I dunno, Killer7 (Suda51's entire library could probably apply), an off-kilter, not entirely baked game that nevertheless manages to impress because it's got vision. Like, you know how most JRPG's today have pretty much no point beyond "let's show off this newest crop of goofy outfits" and so after the halfway point it turns out the villain is also the Pope who is also your best friend who is also your sister and you're fighting in a dream which is somehow the reality of the collective unconsciousness and a few Nietzsche quotes later the game fades to credits as your characters smile emptily into the screen? On the other end of the scale, you've got games like the above, or hell, Drakengard, which was a godawful game, but was clearly all about hate and had every aspect of its design made with this in mind. Even its questionable decisions could usually be excused by tying into some grander scheme, and it makes use of its medium as a video game, which is basically required for a "good video game story" today unless you're Planescape or something.
also its music and voice acting are pretty great and all things considered you could do worse for $20, come on, what the hell else are you going to buy, Enslaved or something

It was like a first person adventure game.
And like all the choices were death traps.

Buying games used makes you literally worse then Hitler
I never did finish that game, but I was having all kinds of fun with it. It was so damn charming and silly.
At one point the game actually says "It is ominous."
I think I just got stuck on a puzzle somewhere and gave up.
The raft section was the like the precursor to Metal Gear Solid cut scenes.
Considering the ones I'd want to buy are no longer being made, I'm not sure how I'd get them new.
Unless you have a magical source of unused psx games that no one else has ever heard of.
If so, I must know.
obviously you're supposed to wait until they re-release or remake the game so you can pay the company directly
Then you'll be on par with Mussolini
Of course! The answer was so obvious. I shall wait for the re-release of them.
If you need me, I'll be in the corner holding my breath until these games come out.
big smile on his mannequin head
doesn't know what he's in for, he's just happy to be there
that said Nier is pretty great and definitely different enough to be worth a try
A cult of retards
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.

Nier is 100% guaranteed diabetes-free
okay that's an awful thing to say
then just lists five or six action games and RPGs.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
or flight simulators?
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
or better yet
a hockey management simulator?

Yeah, I was thinking "huh so an action game with rts and strategy RPG elements"
until I read the listing.
The Op and title did a good job grabbing people's attention though.

field hockey management simulator
(it does not actually have all those genres and more)
