So WarCraftPets' Twitter is claiming the "Stop the Fires" orphan daily thing is now dropping the Headless Horseman Loot-Filled Pumpkins. Dunno if it's 100%, but wow...
I hope that's true, more chances for a mount.

Well, that's one way to make sure Goldshire stays not on fire for the duration of the event, I guess.
Nah, people are too stupid in Goldshire to put out the fires. The problem is, the fires scale somewhat based on how many people are around. It's actually way easier to put them out by yourself than if there are a few people nearby. Goldshire always burns because there are always people there, and also the layout is really bad (lots of fires on the opposite ends of the inn/blacksmith which is far from the water pool). And in general, people are too dumb to douse the right things, meaning it spreads back to the spot they just doused continuously until time runs out.

I always thought it was easiest to put out the fires with no more than 5 people. After that, you have to get some coordination, and with a random bunch of people trying to do their own thing, you have no coordinaton.
Think i've also read the same for Shen'dralar which sucks
Bloodsail rep is pretty easy anyway right now ... 2-3 hours will get you to honored with them.
How long does the insane take?
currently I'm almost exalted with all gobbies.. does it still work if i get exalted with them, then exalted with Bloodsail?
I'd really rather not trash all that gob rep and then build it back up again
It worked for me.
I'd suggest getting back to unfriendly or neutral though. ;-)
I ended up getting back to revered just farming for librams in DM North and turning in keys whenever I got them though. I guess I had really bad luck. More recently I decided to turn in some of the ogre tannin I still had in the bank, but I was short on runecloth so I ended up staying longer than I expected, and I saw 8 or 9 librams over a 2 or 3 period. Too bad they're unique.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
On my server goldshire doesnt burn anymore.. the horseman doesnt even show up. Its been that way for at least 2 days now and there was no restart of the server.

Can't level 1's do that quest, though? Though I guess the only level 80 gear in the pumpkin is the sword and plate helm.
Still, if this is true, doubling my odds is just going to result in making me even more bitter when I still don't get it. Especially if I get to see a bunch of level 20-something alts riding around on it.
So my alliance hunter that I've been casually leveling with a friend is 75 now and doing Grizzly Hills. It turns out 4.0.1 somehow broke that quest where you escape from that one camp by riding on a horse with some guy back to the lodge. While escaping you get attacked by worgen and have a couple abilities to kill/snare them, as well as the game's most useless sprint type ability (it lasts 2 seconds and doesn't make you much faster). As of the patch, it is now impossible to do this quest the "legitimate" way. You get absolutely swarmed by worgen now, and no matter how well you use the abilities, you will lose to attrition before you get to the lodge.
The only way it can be done now is by "cheating," which apparently you could always do, even when the quest was still possible to do normally. It's a good thing they never fixed the "cheat," or that would be the end of the quest line for now.
So, was doing a Daily Heroic on my alt warlock today for Money/JP for Cata and .... well:
I was getting harrased by the druid tank and his hunter guildy for using Hellfire.
As a Demonology Warlock.
On AoE pulls.
In Heroic Violet Hold.
And the Tank didn't even have his stuff gemmed.
It was like ... surreal. He kept posting boss meters and single-target meters (ie - single target fights lasting less then 15 seconds) and talking about "Failfire".
It's a case of a guy not keeping up to date on all class changes, since Hellfire was never used by anyone (except those trying to suicide) before the patch.
You should enjoy that as much as possible while healers have the mana to heal anything.
Bah, with Soul Link up the damage is hilariously minimal, even with my health pool in 232 PvE gear.
It's pretty dumb though considering they said they would take the self-damage off Hellfire, did take it out on Beta for a bit I think and then they put it back.

Well, it was all part of the whole caring about DPS in Heroics thing and especially caring about a warlocks DPS on 14 second fights. I mean, my Bane of Doom won't even tick ONCE before the fight is over. The boss is half dead before my Dots are up. And I was still doing 4k anyway.
I just couldn't figure out why anyone would give a shit.
I was definitely surprised to see it still did damage (to you) when 4.0.1 hit, since I wasn't paying attention close enough attention to beta.
I don't even have a demo spec, so I only found out because on a wipe I was making a joke how "haha, see, I can't even kill myself anymore!" and then I discovered it still let me.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
I tried to do the fire thing the other day and despite participating and putting shit out...once it was all done I got no credit for it.
It's a daily, did you pick up the quest first? Also, the main thing you want to do anyways is the pumpkin part, which spawns after he is killed. The normal "put out the fires" part only awards some gold and useless candy/throwable pumpkin hats.
In any case, you can always try as much as you like. He is spawned by someone picking up the daily "Let the Fires Come" (though there is a brief window after he despawns where he won't spawn again)

Did the patch do something weird to professions? For some reason my inscription window suddenly looks completely different, and when I do Northrend Research I craft 2 stamina scrolls and learn nothing. Also there doesn't appear to be a cooldown :?
Profession windows are always hosed up when you first log in after a patch. They eventually correct themselves as the server spews out some sort of updated information. I imagine it's due to cached stuff from before the patch when you first log in.
Or maybe you ran into a different profession window bug. It is 4.0.1 after all!
Professions are wierd for me across every character that has them. It seems to take AAAAGES! for the list to organise itself into categories. Also, Icy Prism let me craft it 3 times on a 20min CD when I first re-subbed. I liked that!
On my Loremaster front; Holy shit western Ashenvale questing nearly made me give up right there. It's so hard to navigate the place (this I knew) that the traveling the quests make you do (this I didn't know!) becomes unbearable!
But now i'm in eastern Ashenvale (Forest Song, rejuvinated with Dreanei for TBC) and it seems so much better, with better quest placement. I'll get bast 400 for sure before the end of tonight, then it's off to Stonetalon...
When you get a patch the cache folder is deleted, so the professions window is messed up because it's still caching all of the recipes and items you can make.

And that one statement sums up everything that is both great and terrible about WOW.

I believe that's the case. If you hit N and look at your talent spec, it'll tell you at the top what level you get your next point.

Duh.
I mean seriously, there's a whole talent for moving while Hellfiring. Why WOULDN'T you!

This is going to be fun.

Silvermoon is about to be laid to waste.
I had a lot more fun with destro. Felguard is cool but doesn't really make playing the class more fun.
