Newest comic is chuckle worthy, but I think it seems more funny because there aren't any new ones regularly.

Cluck cluck, gibber gibber, my old man's a mushroom, etc.
That one's funny, but I always find it mildly off putting, since my eyesight is much worse than they think the kid's is, and I still get by with regular old glasses.
I wasn't too impressed by the new comic.

Are the comics on the website in any order whatsoever?
I went in to check now and despite reading all of them several times, most recently earlier this year, I now find what appears to be new ones just randomly inbetween stuff that I recognize.
That one has always bothered me a little bit because it seems to imply that it goes like this:
1) Is the patient's eyesight bad?
2) If yes, shoot lasers at the eyes until eyesight improves.
You first need to run a crapload of tests to know how exactly to correct the sight in each eye in order to get a map of how much tissue the laser should ablate where.

The grim humor from the comic comes from you believing that this awful thing could happen from a misunderstanding. The laser eye surgery itself isn't slapstick. Besides, note that I said "bothered me a little bit". I still understand what he was getting at and I think the comic is alright.

Using the oddly shaped human->gopher speech translating machine, the farmer calmly explains the destruction and hunger the gophers have unknowingly wrought. The gopher leader is understandably dismayed, and vows to move his people to an unused field.
