You know what, screw it. I'll give PbP another shot.
I'm happy with my character Orokos and will play him if you will have him. Combat changes won't affect anything as he's not a fighter, so I'm good as is.
Slim's ready in his final (?) form. I think everything's done right. Ish.
Anyway, this is more or less his final form. He's going to be a little less enthusiastically good than Matthew was. A bit more of a survivor. A tough little cuss, if truth be told.

Jessica, all done up new. Or not so new. re-balanced some skills, but only having 65 skill points sucks. Guess that's what I get for taking a full BAB progression...
Good opening post, Elf. Any shot at getting a final thumbs up on Slim before I make my re-introduction? Wouldn't want to have to retcon myself or whatever.
Also, seriously, Radioactive or Gazing Eye? I can't decide.
Updated the stats, don't think I need to tweak anything else. I gained +1 more to Int modifier so I'm going to have to redo the skills from 1st level since it was confusing enough, make sure I get em right.
Anyone have any suggestions or tweaks I overlooked? The focus is still on driving and a bit of mechanic work, and being a sneaky survivor.
Mr. Rose, Jessica should be 6th level rather than 7th. You can choose 2 more languages(from INT mod) to read/write or speak if you want. And I don't see her mutations listed anywhere. Other than that, she's good, and props for having a character picture.
Grimmy, Slim's stats are approved, I just need background. I like gazing eye better than radioactive, but that's me.
jdarksun, for now, standard d20. I try only to house rule if something in the standard rules seems stupid, or if a player finds a way to break the system.
Infidel, Orokos' stats look good, if you want to choose 3 more languages(from INT mod) to read/write or speak, now's the time to do so. Still need background. Also, props on having a character picture.

Damn, forgot we leveled at the end of the last LA thread...
OK, I rolled her back to pre-level stats here. All her mutations are in the special abilities section, now with added mutation tags.
Whoops ... I'll take care of that. Guess I'm going to lose some stuff. Ah well. It was just slowing me down anyway.
EDIT: Fixed. I gave the disk shooter disks a TU value of 1 each (like arrows & crossbow bolts). I couldn't find them in any of the tables.

I still say that 1TU for pointy bits of metal is kinda stupid. I can totally see bullets beign expensive, but they're actually kinda hard to make.
Actually, most of the prices for stuff in apocalypse are really messed up, as they seem to be converted from purchase DC directly by some magical formula which takes no account of how useful an apocalypse survivor would find the item in question...
Bottom of page 26 in apocalypse has 10 disc shooters for 1 TU. I think we also agreed for Talon's game that it was 3 arrows or bolts for 1 TU. At least that's how I've got it for my character.
Case approved. Nice background, being previously exiled make acceptance a powerful and believable motivator.
Grimmy, The disc gun discs are 1 TU for 10 of them. It's Table 2-12 on page 26 of d20 Apoc.
Grid, we're sorry to see you go man. Come back when you have more time.
Salt, there are a few cybernetics I'd actually be okay with. From d20 Future you could have two of the following: Nightvision Optics, Stabilizer, Subcutaneous Body Armor(light or medium), Subcutaneous Cell Phone(hahahahahah, okay, just ignore this one), or Telescopic Optics. But it comes with strings attached:
a) your cybernetics are just as obvious as everyone else's mutations are. With the body armor, it's severe enough that the medium level would cause a -2 penalty to social skills/situations affected by your appearance.
b) to make this fit the setting, there's some backstory attached. You have retrograde amnesia, and it kicks in at random times, wiping your short-term memory. Also, you still have brief fits of anterograde amnesia that wipes out your short-term memory. So there will be times when I say, "You don't remember anything that happened in the last 24 hours".
Everyone, POST! I can't make another GM post until I have something to respond to. There's debris, corpses, loot, mutant vultures, new people! Do something with/for/to one/two/several/all of them!

So... what's the drill? Are we starting the IC thread with the fight between Phoenics and the returning raiders? Where do the neutrals/as-yet-unaligned stand while this is all going on?
The raiders are all dead. The only people that escaped were the raiders' prisoners(the new characters). They're the ones who came back. Right now you're all standing around. You can move a bit back in time if you want to write about your characters thoughts/reactions during the previous night, or as they encountered the new characters, or you can just get straight to the point and start looting bodies/searching for food & water/attempt to chase off a vulture/ask the new people questions/try to figure out what killed the raiders/philosophize about the situation.

Oh man
I AM GONNA DO IT
Will I remember actually getting the cybernetics? And will taking Cybernetics replace my Mutation points?
You won't remember getting the cybernetics, no. It will be a mystery you'll have a chance to resolve at some point IC. And yes, if you have cybernetics, no mutations.
New Survivors: The raiders tied Salt up to the post you were all tied to last night, while he was unconcious. He woke up with the screaming, same as most of you did if you weren't already awake. Salt: You don't remember the 24 hrs before that, so you don't remember being captured. The last thing you remember is seeing a couple of tents in the distance as you were walking, and deciding to go check them out.

Elf, is Jessica OK now, with mutations all defined and junk? Especially since she's still using the custom template Talon came up with to get her awesome BAB progression. 'Cause if that has to go, I need to start from scratch again...
So at what point should we start making second posts? Don't want to stomp all over everyone else -- don't want to let this lose momentum.
EDIT: Wow, only 14 hps Salt? Good thing you armed yourself with a nice distance weapon like a ... monkey wrench. I guess you're not going to be mixing it up much, eh?
Edit: She's a driver and a smart hero. She wasn't built for combat, she was built for driving and uh, smart heroing.
Does the heavy vehicle expertise mean you expect to be driving an armored tanker truck while shirtless leather fetish guys shoot at you?
Yes.
Edit: I considered Lawbringer, but I figured we'd be travelling so a community-based class didn't seem quite right.

Heheh, yeah, forgot that part. Maybe later when (if) we all settle down and get to empire building...
Actually, there was one thing that bothered me, and it sorta plays into a question I've been trying to answer for a while; how come Lawgiver only has five levels listed when most every other class has ten? Also, is there a limit on the number of levels you can have? I know in D&D, once you get to twenty, you're basically small gods in waiting, but that doesn't seem to be the case in modern...
Hey INNS -- you're still supposed to be tied to a stake or something, right? You need someone to cut you free, or are you going to take care of it yourself?
If you want, feel free to steer Slim over and have him cut the ropes or whatever.

I didn't take any extra languages because it just didn't seem to suit the character.
I only just realized that I've essentially made a three-eyed dwarf.
