    I can't get the texture pack folder to work. Has anyone had any success?

    It's notorious for not working correctly on Mac OSX. Other than that...it's a folder. It opens...and it closes. That's about all the functionality that it has.

    What exactly is not working about it? Are you putting .zip files in there? They have to be .zip. .rar doesn't work. I tried. Are you compressing the textures into a zip yourself, or are you downloading them that way? If you're compressing them yourself, they have to be a certain way. Most of the packs you get now will be pre-made and ready to go.

    Ooooh, zip files. I extracted the .zip to the folder, and tried putting them in folders of their own.

    gonna use the tronic pack I think, but I need to alter some things to not be ugly

    It's a piece of cake, Rane. You just take the terrain.png out of the zip file and you open it with an image editor, and then you save it, and you put it back into the zip file. Make sure minecraft's close and it'll be hunky dory.

    I'm having a LOT of fun messing with this texture making thing

    fixing up the tronic one, because a lot of it was pretty badly thought up, like the trees and gravel and obsidian

    When you launch the client, just give it five minutes before you shut it down. Sometimes there's a long timeout before it recognizes it's not going to connect; once it does, it'll give you the option to play in offline mode.

    it already is. the red hair dye didnt lift properly, i have natural roots and the ends of my hair are the only parts that are the colour i want.

    I am going to dye over it in a caramelly colour. hopefully the red won't show through THAT much...

    so the Biome Mod that allows you to create huge cave systems, etc

    well I installed it and now it locks up and then generates a java error:
          Minecraft has crashed!
