I want you to do a fully fledged bit of art in this style, backgrounds and everything.

    Like picasso;

Well Mustang, I've been meaning to do something like that for a while. So here's some abstract compositional sketches from today. They're thumbnails because I feel like I should take small steps toward bigger pieces.

What do you guys think so far?

(whoops, got a little sidetracked with this):

    Okay, back on track:

    backgrounds_and_junk_3_by_kyleharv-d2zakyz.jpg

The colors weren't really doing it for me, so I transitioned to b&w for about a page:

Maybe I'll start adding one or two colors at a time henceforth. No need to rush or anything.

Oh and here's an MS Paint + laptop touchpad drawing from a couple days ago. His name is Ben the bean:

Here's some more thumbnails. This time I added color with Copic markers and a highlighter.

Okay, I haven't gotten to draw much lately, and I've gotta run in a minute, but here's some stuff real quick:

Just add water to watch composition sketches grow right before your eyes!

    Haha Nibcrom.

This is a full page drawing of a monster guy. I didn't use black in this one. It's posted in the doodle thread too because not many people are commenting here.

Paradise, you're in a bit of rut at the moment dude. You need to push yourself to try something a bit different.

    This thing was pretty rad.

I want to see more cohesive bits of art like this. Rather than just random sketches.

Yeah you're right. I'm not really feeling it lately, for whatever reason. Maybe I'll just stop drawing for a while until I start enjoying it again. Then I'll probably want to do a bunch of different stuff.

On a quick side note, here's my entry for the Pumpkin Carving Contest thread (in case you magically can't see the sticky threads or you ignore them or whatever):
    jack_o___lantern_in_the_daytime_by_kyleharv-d30zg1v.jpg

    jack_o___lantern_at_night_by_kyleharv-d30zg4a.jpg
More people need to get in on this quickly because Halloween is in less than ten days. The entries will probably start pouring in next week, but so far there are only three carved pumpkins in there. That is a very small number.

Oh by the way, Mustang, you can use an ordinary serrated steak knife to carve most pumpkins. I used an x-acto knife to do some of the details, but honestly a decent steak knife is just as good. And a tablespoon works great for scraping out the guts.

I dont comment on art stuff often even though I lurk a lot in these forums. Your opening stuff I wasn't as thrilled with as other people seemed to be, but your later stuff seems to really be coming into its own. Great job and awesome progress.

you know what you must do now, with all these wonderful characters, make a comic! I bet they can go on all kinds of adventures in lands that look just as weird as them. Doesn't have to be funny or clever, I just wanna see these little guys have fun on a road trip or something.

^Y'know that isn't a bad idea, it doesn't have to be a regular thing either.
