They already have the giant t-rex statue, all you'd have to do is hook up the machines and hydraulics and such and it'd be good to go. What's really bad is how many people I know who have gone to it to either back up their own beliefs, or have somehow been persuaded to start believing their bullshit.

While interesting, I don't see any reason to get excited about the discovery until we actually know what it is.
Eh, I could see it being reasonable to be moderately excited about a possible new discovery.

But that's just it, all we know is that it's related to astrobiology. I'm confident it will be something fairly interesting from a scientific perspective, but I doubt it's going to be something as exciting as, "hey we found extraterrestrial bacteria."

Oh yeah, I agree it'll probably be interesting. But getting excited in advance suggests breathless anticipation of some major announcement that they've actually found life on another planet, which is almost certainly not the case. It'll be interesting, but it's unlikely to be groundbreaking. Though it may seem groundbreaking at first (especially after the media dumbs it down and hypes it up).
I absolutely am interested in what they're going to announce, I just have reservations about how amazing it will be.
I bet they found another amino acid just chillin out in space. Either way. Cool as fuck. I've thinking about applying to the astrobiology program at Washington University.

The astrobiologists are relevant because the only life left after will be astrobiology. Little buggies just metabolizing sulfur out around Gliese.
