    We have a PDS at Tequ'ran, we brought it from 0.0.1 in the carrier when we took the system. We also researched deep space cannons last round, so yes I do believe it is in range.

    Maybe I should have, but if I blow assembly this early, everyone else will have significantly more voting power than me, and I'm not going to be able to control the policy voted on this time around. Also, I don't think that you or El Skid are likely to instantly blow your strategy cards- of course, now that I've said that, you may prove me wrong.

    This is one of the ways that I like the expansion strategy cards a lot better- when that secondary was on diplomacy, there was no reason not to blow diplomacy early, and no reason not to stall infinitely with politics, which contributed even more to the Yssaril being broken.
    Pass on Warfare secondary.

    Now's the time to ask- does anyone have a political card that they would love to have voted on?

    1. claiming Sarween Tools for free, and
    2. exhausting Abyz (3), Vefut II (2), and Fria (2), and using the red credit from Vefut II to purchase Hylar V Assult Laser.

    Spend 1 Command Counter from your Strategy Allocation area and 6 resources to receive one technology advance (for which you have the necessary prerequisites).

    I thought the rule was that you could exhaust the system as part of the tech purchase, but that it couldn't already be exhausted prior?

    Rend should rule on that, though- it's been a while since I've played...

    That seems like double-dipping if it's worth +1 resource toward a tech when it's both unexhausted and when it is being exhausted.

    But yeah, whatever Rend comes back with. :)

    I am nearly certain you can use the credit from a planet that was previously unexhausted but which you are exhausting for that purchase.

    If not, I can swap out for a different one, so there's probably no need to delay resolving the secondary.

    From rulebook :
    Technology specialty discounts do not apply if the
    contributing Planet Card(s) is exhausted. (It is not
    necessary to exhaust a planet with the technology specialty
    in order to receive the discount, nor is it necessary
    to exhaust that specific planet to buy the
    Technology advance).

    That implies that you can use the planet with the specialty to pay for the tech.
