    I kinda realized why I always thought it looked terrible but seemed like it would make for a decent Bakshi-esque animation.


    The entire thing looks like a bunch of animation tweeners.

    I happen to like Girl Genius's art a lot, although I can certainly see why people would hate it.

    It's completely retarded how much some people hate the comic just because of the art, though. It's cartoony and over-the-top, but even accounting for taste, the amount of flak it gets from some people is completely unjustifiable and they kind of end up coming across as lunatics.

    Anyway, even if you don't like the art the story is fantastic.

    The art isn't really uncanny valley, since it's not very realistic, but it seems to induce a similar reaction in a lot of people.

    Phil Foglio's art works fine as individual pieces. But it's terrible as sequential art when the characters are so variable from one frame to the next.
