Question: what is the liquid that makes a cat's nose wet?

Because whatever it is, she is presently smearing it all over my arm.

    I hope it's not mucus.

last week i watched the episode of Glee where two monumentally stupid things happened:

the guy who picks on Kurt kissed him, and

    Will kissed the football coach

never in my life have i seen more utterly ridiculous plot points

the whole "i hate gays because i'm secretly gay and i will reveal myself by making out with a guy in the climax of a heated argument" thing is SO

    FUCKING

    STUPID

American Beauty gets a pass. Everything else doesn't.

Can we also give a pass to when every Republican member of Congress/prominently homophobic televangelist does it? Because that's funny every time...

It is seriously awesome, everything about the Lost Isles has to be the best presentation of any MMO ever. The opening cinematic, followed by the entire look, feel and sound of the place is just awesome.

Also rational choice theory is really interesting because a handful of seemingly minimal restrictions on choice (transitivity, continuity, completeness, and strict dominance) lead via deductive proof to some extremely strong conclusions about rationality (the expected utility model). But when you actually start looking at the formal foundations it suddenly becomes very unclear how to interpret these mathematical results.

Winky, Cata has had great music, but Grizzly Hills still had the best.

The drum sound in new Org is annoying.

That movie was blindingly pretentious, shallow drivel.

There's a reason the plastic bag metaphor stays alive in Katy Perry lyrics of all places.

American Beauty always struck me as teenage self-insertion wish fulfilment.

That whole "I'm a teenager who is incredibly wealthy because I deal drugs seemingly without ever having to mix with unsavoury people, my parent(s) don't understand me and this girl is interested in me because I am so cool and apathetic" sort of thing.

My parents wouldn't let me watch American Beauty when it came out (too young), but my friends all saw it and talked about how it was so great and etc., so it built up this allure in my mind. Then I finally saw it senior year of college while shitfaced drunk and simply could not get over how stupid it was. I called my mom later and was like "I am totally fine with how you wouldn't let me watch that; I cannot believe how shitty it was!"

Life in the suburbs is already depressing enough. You don't need to dress it up with sordid affairs, soulful boys next door, and repressed homosexual killers.

it's more like, american beauty was like a peek into the minds of folks who act world weary and cynical about things that everybody is tired of hearing

oh man, life in the suburbs is so shallow
    people are such conformists
    working 9 to 5 isn't fulfilling

    etc

    i mean, duh

not only is that overdone, it's so outdated that making fun of that is overdone

    it's a very adolescent movie.
