I'm happy to see the lighter weights finally getting the credit they deserve for putting on the best shows, but it'll be a goddamn shame having the little guys sharing cards with all those fatasses. I'll miss WEC but it's better than losing the weight classes entirely from mainstage NA MMA, which is something that I had just accepted for a while.
I won't be surprised at all if Maynard bores his way through Edgar, it wouldn't be the first time. I'll be shocked if he lasts more than one title defense, though. Bendo has the tools for either guy if he can make it through 53 as champ.
Don't think I've seen this mentioned yet, but the rumours are that UFC 129 is the one in Toronto, and will be co-headlined by GSP vs Shields AND Cain vs JDS. If this rumour is true that card will be massive

Todd Harris definitely just called Stephan Bonnar a "UFC Legend".
Calm down, Todd.
When you're part of the most important fight in UFC history that seems to be pretty legendary. He isn't legendarily good, but he is a legend.
Meh...I hate stretching it like that. I mean, you're technically right. And I don't have any personal problem with him or anything. I just think calling him a legend is a bit over the top. Forrest has done way better for himself since that fight and I don't consider him a legend, either. Just a personal thing, I guess.
Anyway, I cleaned up in the prelims. I got the winners of 5 of the 7 fights and called 2 of them perfectly. I hope the main card goes as well for me.

Once again I don't get the judges. That fight was pretty clearly 29-28 for Kamal at worst and I thought he won the third round too, which moron had it 29-28 the other way?

That was incredible. Usually when people say that it's some form of hyperbole but in this case it's true, I've always wanted someone to try that and he pulled it off.
Does ESPN even know WEC exists? I've never seen them mention it.
At most I expect Tony Riali to gush over the WEC on Around the Horn tomorrow, followed by the 4 geezer journalists talking about how horrible "human cockfighting" is.
Also - I love how Pettis kicks the cameraman through the cage.
edit: just watched Sportscenter top 10, Pettis was #2.

What was number one? Like I get that it's probably something more mainstream, but that was action movie shit that was cartoonishly awesome, how do you put something above that?
It's been a great few months for fans of odd kicks. Hook kicks, Brazilian kicks, axe kicks, and now matrix style wall-jump kicks. Good times. Seems like some new strikes are starting to trickle in from other disciplines again, it's a little exciting.

Goodbye, WEC. We hardly knew ye.

I missed the streaming opportunity, so I'm not entirely sure what this was about.
More details?
EDIT: EA MMA tournament? Did ya win?

Just as planned.
edit: Why in hell did his coach tell him to take Cerrone down?
WHY?
RUFIO! RUFIO! RUFIO!
Edit: Not feeling all that great about this particular prediction now.
He's like a tiny Dan Henderson.
ediy: Gonna go right ahead and say Edgar/Maynard won't be as entertaining.
THAT KICK
Thank you Pettis. :^:
Kick.
Holy.
Shit.

Edit: I still love Bendo Hendo, but that kick. It's just. Too. I. Don't. Even.
Thanks for the gif.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT PETTIS.
That's one of the greatest moves ever pulled off in any sport, ever.

Like, possibly p4p elite good. He just outclasses his opponents to an absurd amount. The GSP comparison above is definitely valid.

That'll be on ESPN for top moments of the year in all sports.
Pretty confident every MMA highlight for the rest of time will include it.
