I don't know details of your situation but I can tell you that one night in the entirety of my stubborn life (this was 2 & half months ago) that I felt suicidal, I brought myself back by turning on some really good music. Pretty much hippy-mode, maaaaaaan.

I'm sort of similar, but to me I always just immediately feel so guilty with burdening people with that knowledge that that was why I deny it.
For a little bit that sentence was in past tense until I realized that I still do that, just without the first blurt-out step.

Well it was a majorly stupid thing to do. But the guy was a cop for twenty years at the time of the call. He's probably saved lives.
Assuming he didn't have any other major fuck ups on his record prior to this one, I think it's enough that he got suspended and publicly humiliated.
