i think this game looks neat as a technical feat, but i dont really want to play this game on my phone. once it hits PSN im all about it though, it looks fun.
yeah mine is also a turn to the left which makes it "upside down"
and yeah pook. I'm done with the phone version but this game is all kinds of fun and everyone should buy it when it comes out to psn/xbla/pc. I'm grabbing the steam version.
Everyone (that likes tower defense like games) should buy this.
Yeah the third stage was frustrating to deal with the laggy jumps over magma so I ended up just building all my defenses right outside the crystal and ran laps clearing the lanes as they pushed to the center.

Now that I found the zoom out button, I'm really enjoying the game.
Playing as the wizard, I always build a small fortress around the crystal and blast things 9 miles away from within my little fortress. The frame rate sucks (damn phone needs another gig of ram, another ghz, and a dedicated graphic chip!), but since I'm not moving around so much it doesn't really bother me.

It's crashed my Samsung Galaxy i9000 once so far, after only playing for 40 mins. I'll give it another go today or something and see how it goes.
Otherwise I'm very happy with the game. I'll probably get it on PS3 when it becomes avail.
The phone flipping is a bit odd. Has anyone found any fun in multiplayer? I was snowed in an airport this weekend, but couldn't get anything reliable. Going back to my home screen while waiting for people to get to the next build phase would cause me to drop out of the game altogether.
Simultaneous release / cross platform isn't that important.
Microsoft seems very anal about this sort of thing. It's the reason why you will never see Super Meat Boy on the PS3.
Interesting that they see the PC as a competitor, however.

If this game is good enough I may wind up buying it twice ... I feel like I *should* have it on my 360 because the split-screen makes sense there, but at the same time I would prefer having it on my PC for the online mulitplayer. There's also that annoying footnote about pre-ordering nabbing you a familiar ... Is anyone else tempted to not go through Steam just to have something that'll stand out more?
wow this sucks. i was checking daily for it to be out. oh well. thanks for the announcement at least I can stop stressing over buying it as soon as possible

You aren't alone.

Ever since I heard about this I've been consumed. Do Want. I don't have an IPhone or an Android so I need to wait for the PC release. It can't come fast enough.
e: In my research of this I found the original build, available for free from here: Dungeon Defense. I mentioned it to Ebotastic and he says he's tried it, it's very basic, only the apprentice is available, 3 towers and 1 level. But hopefully it will scratch my itch.
e2: The prototype is really fun. I managed to get to wave 5 and 1524 points. How well can you do?

... and while it doesn't have a release date, it does list a price. $9.99 with a $1 discount to $8.99.
I was mostly just happy to finally see a price on this. Part of me was afraid with all the cross platform they might jack the price up a bit. $5-10 seems about right, though.
Are these people thinking the Vaporware Throne has been vacated by Duke and are making a bid for it or something?
This is getting pretty ridiculous.

I can't wait. The demo/prototype/tech example that they produced makes me want to play this multiplayer so bad. It's like a 3d challenge level from Magicka. With towers. And classes other than wizard.

Definitely will pick this up for the PC, though.

In general, I don't fuck around with gamespy.
Hopefully we'll be able to use Steamworks or PSN or Xbox live when it hits other platforms.
If I could lime that harder I would.
I hope they avoid it for PSN or PC
The bad news - DD is delayed again, until the end of Q1 2011.
The good news - A video from CES of PC/PS3/Android Tegra crossplay -

It looks like this might be $0.99 in the Android Marketplace too, can anyone with Android confirm that?
Since I already bought it, I can't tell. However, I checked my co-worker's phone (doesn't have it) and it is listed as $0.99 instead of $2.99.
Should I buy y/n
PSN/Steam/NNID: SyphonBlue | BNet: SyphonBlue#1126
And I can't tell you, Syphon, since I own neither an iOS nor an Android device.
(And don't give me any wine crap or bootcamp crap, I have Mac for a reason.)
There won't be a Mac version until Macs support the Unreal engine that DD uses.
