Two "shots" with the flamethrower= dead guy. Two shots with the m14 or FAL== dead guy. I really like the m14+ flamethrower. I still kind of suck, but my gun looks vicious now!

There are a decent amount of guns in this game, and most of them are pretty good. Some guns are good all-around, like the Famas, Aug and Galil, some are more specialized. You pretty much have to know the maps if you want to use the shotguns, for example. Same thing with akimbo SMGs.
I had a really fun time on Nuketown with the SPAS and the Python, but it was more of a novelty thing. If I had went with the AK74, I could have played pretty much the same (run laps, rush the houses) and not had to worry about getting caught in the open.
See in every game up til blops I used a single MP5 silenced and the jammer perk so I could be a sneaky d-bag.
But seeing as how little damage and how few rounds it hold compared the the galil, and the only minor impact on run speed, my old set up is basically useless.

blops is awesome cause I have a video uploaded of me shooting a dude in the nuts with a crossbow and him freaking out jumping around before it explodes.
I too do the knife fight thing instead of just taking a step back and shooting the guy. I have a hell of a time with Surprise! CQB. I have this compulsion to aim that gets me killed. When I am not trying to find him in my sights, I'm trying to knife fight.
got three achievements, got to sergeant 3 and fucked someone's face up with an engineer drill
and then *blop* i got this achievement called "the dentist". the wire guided rocket i have in my kit slamming a apache out of the sky was another cool one

yes. moreover, the kits and weaponry have a more defined role as do the kits. the maps have terrain and buildings that are destroyable and there is permanent deformation on all the terrain. each fight is crazy and always seem to have the feeling of an elaborate set piece you'd see in a single player game yet it is just dudes duking it out. it's the apex of the battlefield formula though i don't know the player limit of the PC version
