Hello, I would like your spam

I'm sure it's been there for ages, but I just noticed the e-mail subscription box at the top of the PA mainsite.

I dropped my e-mail in and clicked the button. It spun for a while before I got this error message:
"Thanks a lot. You broke our website. We are angry. An obliterator-class huntroid has been dispatched."

I am being excluded from a prestigious group of Internet pioneers by the dark whim of a scheming machine.

edit: The error code is 500

edit: It looks like the subscription did go through.

    I bet whoever wrote them anxiously waits for someone to stumble on to the more obscure errors.

    hah, I got that one the other day. I forget what I was doing. downloading past comics to add my screensaver slideshow, but I don't remember why I was putting in a date manually.

    So what kind of emails do you get if you subscribe? Update notifications?

    We usually offer special codes to people who subscribe, early access to merchandise / PAX tickets / etc.

    oooh, I am enticed by your offer of codes and such.
    You should probably link the words, "Want Penny Arcade Spam?" to a description of what kind of spam we exactly get. This is the first I have heard that you offer deals though your mailer.
