He got Severian from The Book of the New Sun even though I unintentionally misled it by saying that he sort of has magical powers. I guess technically he doesn't, but it just seems like the answer should be "sort of".
It got Osama Bin Laden right but it's kind of disturbing that one of the questions was: Do you like your character as someone who is more than just a friend?

The disturbing part is that people define characters by the metric of wanting to sleep with them.
It's pretty obvious exactly how the thing works, but it's still surprising a lot of the time
like when it asks if they're korean and then asks if they're mexican the next question and then still gets it right
It asks a few random questions each time to build up training data. It's not what you'd call a "domain expert" AI, so it's not aware that you can't be both Mexican and Korean. Well, you totally can be but it's not a common thing. This actually comes in handy though, because when a character comes up that violates a basic dichotomy like that, it really narrows things down.

Severian from Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun stumped him pretty completely.
He got him for me.
I think you just answered the questions wrong.
I'm quite confident that I answered everything correctly. It might be that the questions it posed didn't allow for the right data, since they're not always the same. I've tried the same character twice after that, and once it guessed correctly, while the second time it failed again due to different question set.
The Thiefmaker from Lies of Locke Lamora also trumps the Akinator.
"Is your character a princess?" Yes
"Is your character blonde?" Yes
"Does your character use a bow?" No
"Is your character from the Wild Arms series?" Yes

"I am guessing...Marle from Chrono Trigger!"
