Never seen this movie at all.

Which is a shame, I kinda like Bill Murray.

Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow and is predicting an early spring.

Andie MacDowel is attractive (or at least was) and "Chris Elliot in his finest role" is a dubious statement at best.

    Today is my son's birthday.

He was born on Ground Hog's day the year the Eagles went to the Super Bowl. I joked that he couldn't believe that the Eagles could even make the big game, that he came early to see it himself, saw his shadow, and the Eagles would have 60 more years of not winning.

It's coooold out there every day. What is this, Miami Beach?
Not hardly. And you know, you can expect hazardous travel later today with that, you know, that, uh, that blizzard thing.
That blizzard - thing. That blizzard - thing. Oh, well, here's the report! The National Weather Service is calling for a "big blizzard thing!"
Yessss, they are. But you know, there's another reason why today is especially exciting.
    Especially cold!
Especially cold, okay, but the big question on everybody's lips...
    On their chapped lips...
On their chapped lips, right: Do ya think Phil is gonna come out and see his shadow?
    Punxsutawney Phil!
    That's right, woodchuck-chuckers - it's...
    GROUNDHOG DAY!

    GroundhogDay.jpg

Today is February 2nd and that means people are going to look to a rodent to predict the weather.

It also means, and this is the good part, that Encore is having a 24 hour marathon of the 1993 movie of the same name. Watch it.

See Bill Murray in his prime.

Marvel at how anyone can find Andie MacDowel attractive.
    GroundhogDay36.jpeg
And see Chris Elliot in his finest role.

So I was watching the movie over Netflix on my iPod while I was at Village Inn for breakfast a little while ago, and just as the guy says "Who else could go for some flapjacks right now?" the waitress brings me pancakes.

Good timing makes the holiday even more festive.

My wife doesn't like this movie because it's too repetitive. Kinda missing the point dear.

Groundhog Day was the movie that always seemed to get pulled out in my high school classes when the teacher was too lazy to teach us though, I think I saw it 4 or 5 times in one year as a result.

My wife also dislikes this movie. As a matter of fact I discovered she doesn't like Bill Murray much at all. I found this out about a month after we had been married.

During our dating and engagement she watched Lost in Translation, Stripes, both Ghostbusters and Caddy Shack with me and didn't say a thing.

It was after we watched Zombieland she dropped the knowledge on me.

It was like being married to a stranger.
