Hi!
Few pages from my newest graphic novel "Swiflty drawn:1980-1990". It' s a kind of a diary, written by a Polish boy, who was born in 1980. This book show, that living in Poland after fall of a comunism, wasn' t an easy life, espacially for a little kid. The book was published in Poland on 17th of march, 2007 (during the Warsaw Comics Meeting) by Kultura Gniewu (Culture of Anger) Publishing House.
Enjoy (they are translated by Michal Slomka)!
Mr. H.
The Art: Great! I really like the style, seriously awesome stuff.
The Story: I enjoyed it.
The Verdict: Awesome man. It's also kinda creepy for some reason.
Thanks:)
Yeah, it' s creepy. The whole story is creepy (and very, very sad), but it was a strange time in Poland these days (it could be even stranger for a foreigner).
Don't be ;) You did the same mistake as Polish journalists, who have written "Swiftly drawn..." reviews. There are some autobiographic elements in a book (I got an Atari, when I was a child), but the whole drama is an invention of my stoned mind. Certainly, all the sociological background, like the street market with stalls with pirate VHS is true. It was a standard view in first month of a new born Polish capitalism.
PS, are they what? Art on comic boards with watercolors, or painted/drawn digitally?
Thanks!
It' s just an Uni Pin black pen (from 0.1 to 0.8) on a paper (A4) with a little help of a black marker (without pencil sketch), colored digitally (Wacom, PS 7). It' s my standard technic.
Greetz!
