What I was referring to earlier with deaths in Superman is that Lex casually mentions at least twice that he had someone killed. Lois's scientist friend inside Lexcorp was said to have disappeared (I think) in such a way that it was obvious he was killed. When Superman was looking for the doctor who poisoned Corben (Metallo) Lex said something about there being nothing left to find.

It could just be Clancy Brown's delivery but that stuff was definitly a step up form the 'banished to another dimension' from some shows and some of the lamer stuff in Batman (except for Joker's laughing gas of course).

But it really doesn't get any darker than Batman Beyond. April Moon, Inque's protege, every member of the Terrific Trio, Bane's fate, that intangible guy, and of course the whole Return of the Joker film.

Kevin Conroy actually does a pretty good job of differentiating Bruce Wayne and Batman. The audience tends to forget that around JL because we see Bruce so much less.

My problem with Justice League was how could they make an hour of television so boring? Maybe I've just been trained to like my cartoons in 30 minute formats, but once they switched to JLU I found the pacing to be so much better.

I agree with you Ringo that television has become very boring. But this, I think, related to the transition time to a more modernist period...O_o

I watched all of the Justice League episodes over a few days right after the series ended - I barely remember half the stuff posted in this thread. I need to rewatch them all and really savor it this time. I remember Ultraman killing Doomsday, but completely forgot about that great fight right there.

That wasn't Ultraman, it was just an evil Superman. There's an animated movie about Ultraman and co though, it's pretty good if you ignore the fact that Batman isn't voiced by Kevin Conroy.

I've yet to hear Conroy do a poor job as Batman. What did you think of James Woods as Owlman? I thought his performance was rock-solid but his voice is so distinctive I found myself thinking of Mr. Woods delivering the lines instead of Owlman saying them.

James Woods as Owlman was both the shit AND the bomb. I was actually surprised at first because it's such a recognizable voice, but I think that he really made the character his own.

This is a great point. James Woods was himself, but still great.
