    It's the same as the normal search, you're just constraining it to posts by that author.

    edit: unless you meant username search, but vBB doesn't partition that off.

    binary search (which is almost certainly what they use) on 63k usernames should average ~16 comparisons

    which is effectively null time compared to the rest of the shit the server has to do

    full text search, now that is a job
