when i was in eighth grade i had to go to a classmate's house to do a project and he was like "sorry about all the stuff going on; it's my dog's birthday party today" and i was like "WHY DOESN'T MY FAMILY HAVE BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR MY DOG"

A life without doggy birthday parties is a cold and empty existence
i have a crazy active badass cat whom i love very much but who doesn't really go for the whole 'relaxed cuddling' thing. he will let you pet him--actually, sometimes he'll force you to pet him--but once he's had his fill he is off to go kick asses, take names, etc
i was at my girlfriend's house and we sat down to watch a movie and her two cuddly-ass cats just came over and chilled for 2 hours in my lap/by my arm and i was like
yes
this is the way life should be forever

So after numerous attempts at keeping him from doing it, Mace has chewed up my new pair of $285 work boots. And less than two hours later he chewed up my brand new sun glasses.
So...
I've already got a family who's going to take him. I put out a mass email at work and another medic said his wife was wanting a big dog like that and I just cannot handle having my stuff destroyed. I've tried everything but his separation anxiety is much too strong for someone who works my hours.
I guess I was stupid to think I could have a pet with the hours that I work. Oh well, now I don't have to burden my buddy's wife with watching him - I think she was starting to get frustrated that he wouldn't listen to anyone in the house. I will bring him to work next Saturday and the guy is going to pick him up for a trial week at their house. It's killing me right now, but he needs someone who can be with him more than I can.
Aww, that sucks. Sorry Cogs.
But really, if the dog is not getting the attention it needs, giving it over to a family where it wil is probably for the best.
It may not feel good, but you're doing the right thing.
Provided they're not a dog-fighting ring or something

I got a new cat and my cat is like this right now.
She will sleep more or less all day. And then at about 8PM or so she will wake up and go into a total frenzy, and she'll run around the house, run into walls, growl at the ceiling for no reason, and just weird crazy behavior.
She only does this at night and therefore it pisses off my downstairs neighbor. I wish I could get her on a different schedule.
Like. Do all of your insane werecat shit done by 6PM, then go back to sleep.

Sorry guys.
I respect the fact that at least you're making sure he goes to a good home.
I guess most cats are a little less nutso when they get a little older.
I'm not really sure how you could improve the situation now though. I guess you could try playing with her earlier in the day, but I don't know if that would actually do anything.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
my mom was U]this[/U close to getting a 4 month old border collie x puppy offered for free in the newspaper.
It would have been so good to have a puppy again.
I am pretty sure my dog would mother all the fur right off it though. She tried to do that to the kitten I found (who is now 8 months old!)

They cast a shadow like a sundial in the morning light. It was half past 10.
Avenger I do not know the story, is that the dog with one eye?
Yes. He was born with one eye and a cleft palette so he couldn't nurse. He had to be bottle fed, which I helped out with (my friends were doing the breeding). He was half the size of his siblings for the first couple months.
